Job Purpose:
The role of the Treasury Accountant will be tracking, maintaining, and overseeing the daily movement of money in and out of a business’ banking accounts. The Treasury Accountant will keep track of multiple accounts associated with the business and also make any payments due to other parties. The holder of this position will report to the Chief Finance Officer.
Key Responsibilities / Duties
Managerial / Supervisory Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to the Treasury and cashiering team.
- Manage the accounts of the Treasury Department.
Operational Responsibilities
- Ensure the timely and accurate posting in Navision of all receipts from clients and approved payments to suppliers and accounting for all cash, cheques, EFT, RTGS receipts and banking transactions (includes posting of bank charges, loan interest and overdraft interest) and general cash management.
- Custodian of petty cash and overseeing the cashiers.
- Manage petty cash requisitions, reimbursements and postings in the system.
- Resolving petty cash issues escalated by the petty cash custodians within 48 hours.
- Working with the CFO to prepare weekly and monthly actual payment schedule while considering priority payments and court manded as well as legal demand payments to manage supplier and legal pressures.
- Preparation and circulation of weekly and monthly revenue and patient numbers report and analysis.
- Processing payments and preparing the necessary supporting documents for authorisation of and remittance on itax on all vatable payments and submission of weekly summary of the same.
- Preparing and reconciling bank and petty cash reconciliations on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Monthly reconciliation of all bank and cash GL s to the TB in compliance with closing procedures.
- Reconciling total cash billed at the branches against bank deposits including credit/debit card and MPESA payments.
- Monthly payroll summary preparation and reconciliation of the same to the Navsion GL account and to the TB on a monthly basis and reporting the variances to the
- Chief Accountant for action.
- Preparation of the reconciliation between Co-Pay expected from staff and actual amount deducted from Payroll for staff medical.
- Preparation and timely submission of statutory payments as follows.
- Preparation of various adhoc cash and revenue reports and analysis as maybe required by management from time to time.

Academic Qualifications
- O-levels / A-Levels
Professional Qualifications
- B Sc./B. Com in Accounts, Finance or any related field from a reputable university.
- A registered member of Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK)
Other know-how required apart from academic and professional qualifications
- Computer skills
Previous relevant work experience required
- At least 3 years’ experience in Treasury
- Hospital experience is essential.
