Finance Accountant at Nova Pioneer

Nova Pioneer is looking for a superstar Finance Accountant to help manage the tax function in the Accounting & Reporting team. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of an innovative network of schools that is developing generations of innovators and leaders who will shape the African Century.

About The Role

General Ledger Management

• Weekly posting of expenses onto the general ledger ie petty cash, credit and debit cards.


• Posting of payroll transactions and reconciliation with the outsourced payroll provider.

Compliance

• Monthly filing of Taxes on Itax ie Withholding VAT, VAT, Income Withholding Tax, Installment Tax, Coorporate Tax


• Ensuring all statutory deductions are paid on time

Reconciliations

• Perform all balance sheet reconciliations ie bank reconciliations, tax reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, loan reconciliations, petty cash reconciliations and credit card reconciliations


• Liaise with External Auditors by providing relevant schedules and responding to queries


• Have full ownership of the trial balance

Reporting

• Assist in the preparation of management accounts

Fixed Asset Management

• Ensuring the fixed asset register is updated on time and reconciles with the general ledger


• Tagging and identification of all company assets

About You

Skills, Experience & Qualifications required:

• A Bachelor’s Degree (in Business preferred) with a CPA-K


• A minimum of 3 years in a similar role


• Familiar with an ERP system


• Experience in a startup or in a company that gives you significant autonomy and responsibility is a plus!


• Results driven: goal oriented, moves fast and takes ownership of work.


• Excellent report writing and presentation skills


• Great problem-solving skills with sound judgment


• Great negotiation skills
