Maintenance Engineer Intern at Synnefa

Summary


This role will perform the function of a Hardware Maintenance Engineer. It will be using internal tools, automated systems and computers.


Details:



  • carry out planned maintenance; checking on the status and performance of field devices; running diagnosis and repair; assessing the problem and; in case of rectification, the job is scheduled and rectification or repair is performed.

  • Be coached/trained on autonomous maintenance tasks.

  • Review device behaviour to ensure that maintenance work is yielding the right results.

  • Modify, upgrade and program devices as the need arises

  • Perform housekeeping and safety; carrying out housekeeping and applying 5s principle during the execution of duties


The candidate must be able to work closely with other colleagues, staff, technicians, and the supervisor on specific tasks related to the maintenance of all FarmShield products. The environment is fast-paced, and the projects evolve quickly.


Skills



  • The candidate must be detail-oriented, agile, and self-motivated.

  • An ideal candidate will have some experience in the manufacturing or repair of electronics.

  • Be willing to start immediately, work smart and adapt quickly.

  • Work as part of a team to help increase efficiency, productivity, and deliver quality outputs.

  • Possess strong organizational skills and enjoy what we do.


Key Qualifications



  • An ongoing study in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or some level of electronics manufacturing or Hardware Engineering.

  • Desire to learn and practice assembling, diagnosing, fixing, and repairing electronic devices.

  • Basic knowledge of computer languages, functions, and firmware programming.

  • Basic knowledge of AI, Machine learning, dashboard design, and UX/UI systems.

  • Exposure to soldering best practices and procedures.

  • Ability to follow step by step instructions.

  • Familiarity with the necessity of quality standards and measures associated with middle-scale electronics manufacturing.

  • A driving license will be an added advantage.


Responsibilities



  • Monitor and maintain devices out in the field

  • Firmware programming and troubleshooting.

  • Solder and troubleshoot boards, 3D printers and other office equipment as assigned.

  • Possible installations in greenhouses across the country.

  • Perform tasks to quality standards as defined by the department.

  • Take direction on assignments and then work autonomously or with the appropriate team(s) to accomplish assigned objectives.

  • Proactively learn various aspects and responsibilities of their jobs.

  • Learn to work safely and efficiently, while maintaining accuracy.

  • Handle customer walk-ins whenever required.

  • Manage office equipment and hardware and take inventory.

  • CAD designs

  • Any other duties and responsibilities needed to keep the department moving forward.
