BURN has revolutionized the global cookstove sector by proving the business case for selling a high quality, locally manufactured and unsubsidized cookstoves. Since 2013, BURN has sold 200,000+ high quality, locally manufactured and unsubsidized jikokoas â„¢ stoves in East Africa. These stoves have helped 1,000,000+ beneficiaries save $39 million in fuel expenditures and 626,221 tons of wood while reducing indoor air pollution by 65%. BURN currently sells ~10,000 stoves per month and intend to double sales by the end of 2017.
About the role
BURN is looking for creative and experienced Communications and Marketing Specialist for its new electric cooking products. The primary role for the successful candidate will be to direct, create and execute multi-channel social media campaigns. They will ensure that all content is on brand and meets communications goals. They will search out and develop relationships with relevant social media influencers and leaders. They will identify up and coming platforms and features to distribute content through. In addition to creating content for our user groups, the Communications and Marketing Specialist will play a key role in developing communications directly with individual customers to ensure their individual success. The content created will be designed to meet specific goal from across the business such as marketing, research, after sales, and product design.
BURN has been developing, testing, and bringing to market new cooking products for 10+ years in Kenya. Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct the creation of professional content across multiple social media channels including but not limited to WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok.
- Search our new opportunities to collaborate with other social media influencers.
- Daily management and publishing of content and copy.
- Contribute to the design and creation of customer communication strategies.
- Proactively collaborate with various groups within BURN establish communication goals.
- Create, edit, and publish video content for social media channels.
- Write and create copy for digital and print marketing campaigns in Swahili and English.
- Stay up to date with current trends for our target customer.
- Measure traffic and interpret usage data.
Skills and Experience
- Have an understanding media habits in Kenyans.
- 3-5 years’ experience creating, publishing professional social media content.
- Demonstrated success managing multi-channel social media content.
- Experience with social media management tools.
- Experience using CRM or CMS systems a plus.
- Proficient at creating, editing and publishing video content for social media and the web.
- You use a data driven approach to direct the content you create.
- Proficient creating content with Adobe creative suite and video editing tools.
- Experience cooking local foods on traditional fuels is a plus.
- Strong organizational skill.
- Fluent in English and Swahili.
