Farm Supervisor Job in Kenya

Kentegra Pyrethrum Company Limited located in Nakuru is looking to recruit a Farm Supervisor.

This position will be based in Lanet.

The key responsibilities for this role include:-

·  Supports the Assistant Manager in coordinating activities with other farm units.

·  Assists in recruiting, training and supervising farm workers, coordinate and direct their activities.

·  Supervise and assign duties like planting, cultivation, sowing, spraying, harvesting, Irrigation and spraying.

·  Ensure flowers are harvested and delivered to the driers on time.

·  Ensure field hygiene is maintained.

·  Installation, maintenance and regular monitoring of irrigation system.

·  Scouting for diseases in the field.

·  Issues farm implements and or tools to workers and collects them at end of workday.

·  Ensure efficient labor utilization, hours and performance.

·  Ensure the Standard Operating Procedures are followed in the field activities.

·  Inspects crops and fields to determine maturity, yield, infestation, or work requirements.

·  Oversees the work of farming units and suggests improvements and changes.

·  Inspect farm buildings and equipment, ensuring routine maintenance is carried out and repairs are made when necessary.

·  Investigates grievances and settles disputes to maintain harmony among workers.

·  Provide daily and weekly field reports.

Qualifications, skills and work experience required for this role:-

·  An Agricultural Certificate or Diploma from a reputable College/Institution.

·  Proven experience in a busy farm.

·  Experience in managing people and maintaining conducive working relationships.

·  Good interpersonal and communication skills.

·  Ability to manage huge team farm casuals.

·  High problem solving skills.
