Job Specifications
The Officer will report to the Director Facilities Manageent and Administration and will be responsible for management of Estates, Housing and Maintenance of University infrastructure.
The Key duties and responsibilities entail:
- Coordinating electrical/civil/mechanical works maintenance works in buildings in order to prevent power failure in the University.
- Coordinating maintenance of equipment and plants to facilitate efficient utilization of both materials and labor in the University.
- Designing electrical/civil/mechanical works drawings for buildings and plants in order to facilitate installation of electricity in the buildings.
- Ensuring maintenance of street lights in the University to provide adequate lighting in the institution for a safe environment.
- Preparing bill of quantities to help estimate the materials to be used in maintenance and repair works across the institution.
Persons specifications
For appointment to this grade, one must:
- Possess a Master’s Degree in Project Management, Public Administration, Business Management, and Economics or any other relevant field from an accredited and recognized University.
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering from an accredited and recognized University.
- Have at least eight (8) years’ relevant work experience with at least two (2) years in a supervisory role.
- Be a full member of a professional body in construction management or its equivalent.
- Be computer proficient.
- Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and Integrity.
