SENIOR ACCOUNTANT, KASNEB
FOUNDATION, GRADE KASNEB 5 (1 POST) HRM/KF/SA/8/23
The
Senior Accountant of the KASNEB Foundation will be reporting to the Head of
KASNEB Foundation on day to day running of the KASNEB Foundation as outlined
herein.
Job specifications
Reporting to the Head of
KASNEB Foundation, the job holder will be responsible for:
Monitoring
expenditure of projects and programmes based on approved budgets on a periodic
basis
Ensuring
safe custody of KASNEB Foundation financial record and assets
Managing
KASNEB Foundation cash flows and security of cheques.
Preparing
annual financial budget, provide technical support during budget making process
by providing reliable up to date financial information of the Foundation.
Preparing
monthly, quarterly and annual financial report to the head of the KASNEB
Foundation.
Managing
the commitments and Foundation’s expenditures within available budgetary
provisions
Preparing
reports and follow up disbursement of Foundation funds
Participating
in resource mobilization initiatives of KASNEB Foundation by managing donor
funds
Duties and
Responsibilities
Participating
in the implementation of performance management system of the foundation
Developing
accounting policies, procedures, regulations and standards for operation and
control purposes.
Interpreting
and implementing financial regulations and procedures, Treasury Circulars,
letters and instructions from all governments agencies
Ensuring
expenditures are within the voted allocations.
Overseeing
the preparation of financial reports
Updating
the general ledger and cash books
Undertaking
bank reconciliation by 2nd of the following month.
Extracting
monthly trial balances by 3rd of the following month.
Ensuring
compliance to applicable accounting standards, rules and regulations
Maintaining
accounting system and ensuring all processes/procedures are automated.
Ensuring
risk management in the area of operation
Perform
any other duties allocated to you.
Person Specifications
For appointment to this
grade, a candidate must have:
The
Senior Accountant requires a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following
discipline, Commerce, Finance, Business Administration/Business Management
(Accounting/Finance Option) or equivalent from recognized institution.
Passed
Part III or Advanced level of the Certified Public Accountant (CPA)K
A
minimum of four (4) years relevant experience or related experience, experience
in Foundation Board development, annual giving, Foundation and corporate
relations, personal solicitation of major gifts, capital campaign planning and
implementation, volunteer training is required.
Membership
in good standing of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya
(ICPAK) or any other recognised professional body.
Supervisory
Course lasting not less than two (2) weeks.
Proficiency
in computer applications.
Show
merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results; and
Fulfil
the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Note: Consolidated salary:
Minimum KSh.137,300 Maximum KSh.207,700
