Nutrition Porject manager

Location information: Baringo district

Main responsibiilties
Provide leadership in managemnt of the grant budget and work plan
Daily management and supervision of staff.
Coordinate all field logistical operations for the program e.g transport in conjunction with the administration department
Conduct staff recruitment and regular training of the local staff (including refresher courses)
Monitor program activities and expenditures against the workplan and budget.
Monitoring nutritional status of beneficiaries as per set indicators and MOH protocols
Monitor program indicators as per SPHERE standards
Monitor food stocks and supplies and ensure requisition to WFP and MOH are done in time
Co-ordinate with other WVK offices and projects in Turkana in implementation of activities.
Co-ordinate with GoK, WFP, Unicef and other implementing patners at the district level to enhance effectiveness of the nutrition program.
Prepare monthly program progress reports, stocks and program reports according to Unicef, WFP and WV requirements
Participate in daily devotions and other organizational meetings as rerequired
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

1. Minimum of Bachelor in Nutrition and dietetics or related discipline.
2. At least five years working experience of which two should be in a management of nutrition programs
3. First hand experience in nutrition programming in complex emergencies
4. Broad understanding of food security issues in arid and semi arid areas
5. Good knowledge of underlying causes of malnutrition.
6. Experience in nutrition surveys and assessments.
7. Competence in analytical computer software data analysis, writing and communication skills.
8. Must have excellent communication skills
9. Must be registered with the Kenya Nutrition and Dietetics Institute (KNDI)

Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience of nutrition programming in complex emergencies
2. Broad understanding of food security issues in arid and semi arid lands
