Job Title: Electrical and Automation Engineer

Company Profile: A multinational company that deals in the Manufacturing and Production of Nutritional and dairy products, coffee, tea, beverages, chocolate and confectionery

Reports to: Factory Engineer

Purpose for the position

To provide reliable power supply to the factory. To ensure proper electrical maintenance and repairs of equipment through efficient organization of staff. To ensure regular calibration of instruments in line with QMS

Main Responsibilities

Management Responsibilities (if any)
* Follow and promote the Nestle Conduct of Business Guidelines
* Conducts training of staff to improve their skills, competence and efficiency
* Ensures that staf under his control is working according to factory rules and regulations.
* Recommends for approval by the Technical Manager the engagement, appointment and promotion of staff in his section
* Exercises strict control over absences, lateness, overtime discipline etc
* Ensures that workers adhere to hygienic standards and safety regulations
* Makes progress and appraisals reports of his staff and recommends changes and reorganization in the section
* Recommends for approval by the Technical Manager engineer the engagement, appointment and promotion of staff in his section
* Keeps close relationship with outside contractors and suppliers

Functional Responsibilities
* Responsible for efficient maintenance and repairs of machinery, equipment and appliances under his supervision
* Ensures high production efficiency at lowest possible cost
* Improves existing electrical installations and makes new installations when directed
* Does any job assigned to him and takes full responsibility for work done
* Can be called to the factory at anytime incase of an emergency. (Call out system)

Is in charge of the following areas:
o Electrical Workshop – General Repairs
o Preventive Maintenance of all electrical equipment
o Electrical installations and appliances
o Instrumentation and Control
o Automation
o Maintenance and repair of electrical forklift, electrical pallet stackers and their batteries
o Electrical intallations in staff houses
o Projects and improvement jobs

* Allocation of Material Purchase and Labor Hours to appropriate cost centers

* Recommends to the Technical Services Manager any corrective measures where necessary
* Organizes and supervises maintenance and repairs of machinery, equipment and appliances within his work area
* Supervises all jobs carried out in accordance with the preventive maintenance schedule
* Keeps all records, reports, instructions, drawings, etc. up to date for his section
* Places new orders for spare parts when necessary
* Takes prompt action incase of breakdowns
* Is proactive in promoting Safety
* Supports implementation of NQMS and NCE
* Implements 5S in his area and promotes in the plant
* Over-all plant power factor
* Reliability factor
* Load factor (in relation to the contracted demand)
* Total harmonic distrortion
* Percentage of instruments outside of the calibration specification
* Downtime caused by automation systems per line

Required Qualifications
* Must hold BSC in electrical or electronic engineering
* Must have a professional experience of at least five years
* Must have good knowledge of instrumentation and automation
* Must be fluent in both oral and written English
* Must be computer literate
