Under the supervision of the Country Director, the Training Manager will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of high quality capacity building activities.
Responsibilities
Work in consultation with the Ministry of Health in defining capacity building needs and strategiesManage development of curriculum and training materialsManage ongoing curriculum development projects, including planning, time management and electronic file managementWork collaboratively with the Ministry of Health and the organization’s HQ Training Team to develop, adapt, and revise curricula and other training materials in support of Kenya project’s objectivesCoordinate curriculum development and review with partner organizations and training institutionsFacilitate meetings discussing capacity building initiativesEnsure curricula meet the organization’s Program Standards and instructional design principlesMaintain regular communication via email, phone and in person local and global staff and partnersProvide technical assistance and skill building to faculty of training institutions, in-service trainers and curriculum developersIntegrate quality improvement approaches in I-TECH’s training effortsBachelor’s degree in Health, Health Education, Education and/or related fieldExperience in training and instructional designDemonstrated experience designing and developing training materials for adultsExperience with health and/or technology related subject matterStrong organizational and planning skillsStrong computer skills, including high level of proficiency with MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS ExcelStrong editing skills and familiarity with the use of a style guideExcellent interpersonal, written and communication skillsExperience in delivery of training using participatory methodologies, preferably training in information technology or health domainsExperience working with health information systems (electronic and paper based)Application Procedure: Applicants should email their applications attaching a detailed curriculum vitae and a letter indicating why they are interested in and qualified for the position and the names of three referees who can provide confidential assessment of their capabilities to a Search Committee.
