We are looking for a dynamic, engaged individual to join our team as a Senior Associate, Learning and Communication working within organization’s Monitoring, Learning, and Information Systems (MLIS) team. The successful candidate, like the MLIS team, will embody the evidence-based and data-driven nature of the organization. While Evidence Action continues to grow the pipeline of proven-interventions to bring to scale, its current programs in the Africa Region include:Dispensers for Safe Water is an entrepreneurial program scaling the chlorine dispenser system – a proven innovation that dramatically expands access to water treatment at an extremely low cost.Deworm the World Initiative actively supports the scale-up of school-based deworming programs worldwide to improve children’s health, education, and long-term development. About Monitoring Learning and Information Systems (MLIS) Team: The MLIS team is critical to the identity and work of Evidence Action. The team embodies the evidence-based nature of Evidence Action’s work and enables Evidence Action to be a cutting-edge, data-driven organization.
The team provides services across Evidence Action’s Africa Region through four sub-teams that work closely together to deliver quality, timely and useful information: Learning and Communication (L&C): This team is responsible for supporting the program teams with timely information in innovative, useful and clear ways to translate analysis and research to evidence-based decision making and action. Monitoring, Analysis and Research (MAR): This team is responsible for ensuring that all ongoing program monitoring needs are met and analysis and research is conducted to support program improvements. Management Information Systems (MIS): This team is be responsible for ensuring that the all programs have access to timely and useful data for day-to-day programmatic planning and decision making through a cloud-based multi-user system. Data Quality and Management (DQM): This team is responsible for ensuring access to quality and timely data to meet all ongoing program needs; including monitoring, information systems and analysis and research. About the Position: The Associate, Learning and Communication will be a key member of the Learning and Communication delivery team for Evidence Action’s Africa Region. Within the region, they will provide support for: 1) Diagnosing the data, research, and learning needs of all Evidence Action programs, 2) Marketing and Showcasing all MLIS services (i.e. data collection, analysis, research, data management etc.) to Evidence Action program teams and 3) Ensuring effective information flow within program teams and between program teams and MLIS divisions. 
A successful Associate, Learning and Communication will ensure that the data-driven decision making process of Evidence Action addresses the most pressing program needs and specifically addresses the strongest opportunities for programmatic improvements.

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) has been providing relief and development services in the Horn of Africa since 1997. Using a human rights framework, DRC’s Horn and Africa and Yemen (HOAY) operation focuses mainly on Somalis who are affected by displacement, but also oversees programmes for internally displaced persons in Kenya, Yemen and Ethiopia. The Somalia programme currently has more than 250 staff working in eight main field offices, which include Hargeisa, Bossaso, Galkacyo, Garowe, Mogadishu, Dollow, Baidoa and Beletweyne. DRC Somalia implements broad emergency and recovery programming including protection, livelihoods and food security, shelter/NFIs, water and sanitation and governance.The Communication and Reporting Officer is fully responsible to ensure that all information and data from the field is captured, documented, analyzed and reported in a results-based and timely manner for donors and internal purposes for DRC Somalia. The Communication and Reporting Officer is responsible to develop communication materials on DRC activities in Somalia for external audience.He/she assists the Country Director and the Programme Development unit in developing a country communications strategy, both internal and external. Vacancy: Marketing and Communication Officer

Terms of Reference 

The African Virtual University (AVU) is a Pan African Intergovernmental Organization established by charter with the mandate of significantly increasing access to quality higher education and training through the innovative use of information communication technologies.A Charter, establishing the AVU as an Intergovernmental Organization, has been signed so far by eighteen (18) African Governments - Kenya, Senegal, Mauritania, Mali, Cote d'Ivoire, Tanzania Mozambique, and Democratic Republic of Congo. The AVU has its headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya and a Regional office in Dakar Senegal with Host-Country Agreements and Diplomatic Status with the two governments. 
The AVU Business Plan 2009-2014 has two main thrusts: (a) Educational and support services provided on a fee basis; and (b) Not-for-profit development services. The, Not-for-profit development services, aims at building the capacity of AVU Partner Institutions (PIs) with an objective of increasing access to quality education through the following activities: updating and developing content; Open Educational Resources (OER) Development; AVU Capacity Enhancement Program (ACEP); set up/upgrade ODeL centers; developing professional networks through Communities of Practices; Research and Development; and Quality Evaluation and Benchmarking. Some of the Not-for-profit development services were delivered from 2005 to 2011 through the AVU Multinational Project I, funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB) and implemented in 10 African countries. The AfDB is funding a second phase of the Multinational Project which will build on the first phase and will extend its benefits to more countries.The overall objective of the AVU Multinational Project II is to strengthen the capacity of the AVU and a network of 27 institutions to deliver and manage quality ICT integrated education and training opportunities in 22 African countries. The project has the following activities: (1) Establishment of new Open Distance and eLearning (ODeL) Centers and/or upgrading of existing AVU Learning Centers as well as Internet connectivity provision at AVU Partner Institutions; (2) Development and/or improvement, and delivery of four ICT integrated Programs: AVU Capacity Enhancement Program (ACEP); Teacher Education, Computer Science, and Peace and Conflict Resolution; (5) Promotion and development of Open Education Resources (OERs); and (6) Enhancement of AVU Capacity. The AVU Multinational project II will be implemented in 27 AVU Partner Institutions in the following 21 countries: nine (9) Francophone African Countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal; Background: The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock & Fisheries, State Department of Agriculture, is rolling out the Kenya Cereals Enhancement Programme (KCEP) whose objective is to contribute to National Food Security. 

The programme is funded by European Union through IFAD. The Ministry wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to the following position:Knowledge Management, Communication and Visibility Officer (KCV) – Nairobi Ref. KCV04

The Knowledge Management, Communication and Visibility Officer (KVCO) will report to the Programme Coordinator.
S/he will be working very closely with the VCS and the M&E Officer; the KMCO will coordinate the establishment and operation of an integrated Programme Learning System.
The system will link five functions: learning and adaptation for continuous improvement of performance; learning oriented M&E; internal (Programme Coordination Unit (PCU) and external (stakeholders) communication; innovation and experimentation; and information management.
Duties and Responsibilities include:-
(a) Developing and implementing KCEP Learning System;
(b) Developing and implementing processes and guidelines to ensure that lessons learnt and good practices are systematically captured, shared with stakeholders and used to improve programme implementation, including the development of AWPB;
(c) Ensuring documentation and wide sharing of results;
(d) Conducting training of counterpart staff at central and county levels and in partners and service providers teams and provide assistance/guidance in implementing the Learning System.
(e) Supporting advocacy efforts through providing evidence of programme impact gathered through the M&E system;
(f) Coordinating the development and implementation of capacity building programmes for PCU staff, the counties and implementing partners;
(g) Providing assistance/guidance in implementing the Programme Learning System;
(h) Coordinating surveys and case studies to assess achievements and outcomes of KCEP activities;
(i) Coordinating the implementation of impact assessments;
(j) Fostering partnerships for broader knowledge-sharing and learning; and
(k) Contributing to the preparation of the AWPB and progress reports;

Regional Communication Officer
The Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) focuses on a small number of specific social and economic development problems by forming (intellectual and financial) partnerships with organisations sharing its objectives. Most Foundation grants are made to grassroots organisations testing innovative approaches in the field. With a small staff, a host of cooperating agencies and thousands of volunteers, the Foundation reaches out to vulnerable populations on four continents, irrespective of their race, religion, political persuasion or gender.

The Regional Communication Officer for AKF in East Africa will be based in Nairobi, Kenya and will report directly to the Manager of Policy and Partnerships. This position is part of AKF’s core regional team and would provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to develop and disseminate various communication initiatives throughout East Africa.

Reporting to the Project Director, you will support the Maisha project in communication and education initiatives that build awareness towards elimination of pediatric HIV and keeping mothers alive as well as advocacy with key partners and stakeholders.
You will design, implement and evaluate communication, advocacy and outreach initiatives to support elimination of pediatric HIV, increase public awareness of and demand for prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV and paediatric HIV/AIDS care and treatment services and create awareness among policy makers opinion leaders, the media, civil society organizations and the public about pediatric AIDS issues.
You will advocate for adoption of the eMTCT framework at various MOH level and among partners as well as for sustainability of actions towards elimination of pediatric HIV.

The Pan African Climate Justice Alliance is a coalition of around 300 Civil Society organizations with diverse membership from 45 African countries drawn from Non-governmental organizations, Foundations, Trusts, Community-based organizations, faith-based networks, national platforms and regional/sector-based networks.
Established in 2008, PACJA aims to unify isolated civil society efforts on climate change advocacy and coordination in Africa, to ensure that pro-poor and people centered response measures are taken into consideration as governments in Africa seek to mainstream climate change into national development strategies.
