(Job Group ‘M’)
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:served for a minimum period of three (3) years at the grade of Senior Structural Assistant, Job Group ‘L’ or in a comparable position in the Public Service;a diploma in Building/Civil Engineering or comparable qualification from a recognized institution, a construction Technician Certificate Part III; or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;attended a Supervisory Skills Course lasting not less than two (2) weeks in a recognized institution;wide knowledge and experience in all matters related to preparation of drawings of structure and/or drainage;knowledge of Government procedures; andshown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
An officer at this level will be responsible for design, preparation of bills of quantities and detailing of structural and civil works drawings for various structures such as roads, sewerage, marine works, retaining walls and footbridges.
Specific duties and responsibilities at this level include:designing and preparing bills of quantities and detailing structural and civil works drawings for various structures such as roads, sewage, marine works, retaining walls and footbridges;training and supervising staff;checking drawings and bending schedules prepared by staff working under him/her and compiling work output, weekly output chart for structural assistants in the unit;co-ordinating digitization of drawing and management of plans, records and storage, retrieval and construction of information.Chief Quantity Survey AssistantNineteen (19) Posts V/No.129/2012

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:served for a minimum period of three (3) years in the grade of Senior Quantity Survey Assistant, Job Group ‘L’ or in a comparable position in the Public Service:a diploma or a Technician Certificate Part III in any of the following fields: Quantity Survey, Building/Civil Engineering or comparable qualification from a recognized institution.attended a Supervisory Skills Course lasting not less than two (2) weeks in a recognized institution;knowledge of Government procedures; andshown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Duties and responsibilities at this level include:checking bills of quantities, specifications and cost estimates for all projects;assisting in contract administration of all types of projects including valuation, site management, pre-contract documentation;contracts documentation and records;audit of final accounts, preparation and checking of payment certificates;controlling, training and supervising staff working under him/her.
Fifteen (15) Posts V/No.130/2012

(Job Group ‘M’)
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:served for a minimum period of three (3) years at the grade of Senior Architectural Assistant, Job Group ‘L’ or in a comparable position in the Public Service:a diploma or a Technician Certificate Part III in any of the following disciplines: Building/Civil Engineering, Architecture, or comparable qualification from a recognized institution.attended a Supervisory Skills Course lasting not less than two (2) weeks in a recognized institution and;wide knowledge and experience in preparation of drawings and management of drawings office;knowledge of Government procedures; andshown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.Specific duties and responsibilities at this level include:supervision of the drawing office and the works on site;preparing and checking finished working drawings;analysis of technical information required by project teams at each design stage;co-coordinating, organizing and scheduling work to ensure smooth flow;training and development of technical staff under him/her.
