Economic Security Field Officers The Economic Security Unit carries out various livelihood projects in Somalia which include food distributions, agriculture inputs provision, cash for work, livestock interventions and other income generating activities in order to help the vulnerable families and communities.
In the frame of its activities, the Somali Delegation in Nairobi is seeking 5 (five) skilled and highly motivated Somali national or origin to fill the Economic Security Field Officer position(s), in the five bases: Garowe; Galkayo; Mogadishu; Gedo-Bay Region and Lower Juba
Is in charge of the Economic Security Programme in the respective assigned region and therefore plans, organises and monitors the implementation of the assistance programme according to institutional objectives.Carries out assessment according to the EcoSec Framework and drafts proposals and reports, as per the standard formats and guidelines provided by the EcoSec Framework.Maintains contacts with relevant interlocutors at the assigned regional level.Monitors the programs based on the framework and produces reports against defined indicators.Coaches the assigned other staff specialists.University degree in Agriculture / Economics / Development Studies / Sociology / Animal Production / Veterinary science or related fields.Min 5 years’ experience in a similar fieldSkilled in the following competencies: Networking & Communication; Adapting & Learning; Responsibility & Autonomy; Communication (ability to express views and ideas); Analysis & Synthesis; Security ManagementVery good knowledge of the socio-political environment of the SomaliaExcellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, any other interactive software)Ability to read and produce technical reportsExcellent command of English and Somali languages.Experience in humanitarian work;Flexibility and willingness to be based in various regions and travel inside Somalia, and ability to work in hardship areas;Good report writing and administrative skills, ability to supervise and train staff;Interested persons (of Somali nationality or origin), with the required background and experience are invited to submit their application to the Head of Human Resources on the above address, before 31st January 2012.
