Our client is a Micro-Finance Bank seeking to recruit and select a qualified professional Bancassurance Officer to Head the Bancassurance Operations and Services for the Institution. 

The overall responsibility is executing the Micro-Finance long-term vision and strategy, policies; operations and marketing of the business and will specifically be responsible for compliance and all affairs relating to the insurance regulator, IRA. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and see the implementation of marketing strategies and prospects for new business to meet Bank’s targets.


• Execution of day to day Insurance operations which entails cross-selling of insurance products, claims administration and documentation.


• Maintain accurate records and reports on insurance transactions; updating premium renewals schedules.


• Ensure customer enquiries are resolved promptly as per laid down policies and procedures.


• Effectively create new client relationships and partnerships whilst ensuring retention of existing business relationships through high standards of customer service.


• Collection of premium on all insurance business transacted as per laid down procedures.


• Champion Insurance products training by working closely with Branches management to sensitize customers on insurance products.


• Prepare monthly company activity reports and ensure its effectiveness in meeting the overall organization strategy.


• Supervise and monitor issuance of policy documents, certificates and renewal information to clients.


• Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.


• Developing and maintaining good working relationships with IRA, Financial Institutions, AKI, distributors and other stake holders.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor of commerce degree from recognized university- Finance/ Banking/ Insurance option


• Diploma in Insurance (AIIK or ACII). A must


• 5-7 years’ experience in the insurance industry with extensive knowledge of marketing issues a must;


• Possession of Executive Certificate of Proficiency in Insurance


• Sound knowledge of the Insurance products and services and IRA regulations a must;


• High levels of professionalism, honest with impeccable integrity (high ethical standards);


• Good management ability with capacity to grow, support and develop talent within the subsidiary;


• Demonstrable business acumen and excellent communication, social and presentation skills


• Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to third parties and employees


• Ability to meet reporting expectations of major stakeholders and statutory bodies


• Excellent decision making skills


• Strong leadership and team building skill and experience with the ability to develop and maintain a Management team


• Excellent organization, delegation, performance management, administration, analytical, influencing, negotiation and time management skills


• Young, dynamic entrepreneur


• Go getters, not scared to roll up their sleeves & get their hands dirty.
