Background: I Choose Life – Africa (ICL) is one of the leading Non-Governmental Organizations that has contributed greatly to Sexual Reproductive Health efforts among the youth in Kenya today. The organization works closely with the government, universities, communities and has programs in over 234 institutions (tertiary institutions and high schools) across 23 Counties in Kenya and reaches over 1 million youth annually with Behaviour Change Communication messages.

ICL"s mission is to create a movement of individuals that enhance the quality of life for communities through Health initiatives, Economic empowerment, Academic & career mentoring, – improved Leadership & governance and Institutional Strengthening (HEAL&I).
About ERIKS Project: It is a project that targets adolescents ages 14 to 19 years with SRH information and advocates for implementation of Comprehensive Sexuality Education in schools.
Job Purpose: To increase the life chances for adolescents in Kisii County by reducing risky behaviours among the adolescents in the county.
Key Responsibilities
Communication a. Identify and develop Project human success stories to share on the organizations social media and partners. b. Work with the project communication officer to develop project communication materials. c. Work with Project Communication Officer in Project Brand enhancement.
Project implementation a. Assist in the planning and implementation of school activities including thematic activities and community conversations b. Coordinate the office administrative issues, particularly pertaining to records, payments and other key issues. c. Develop project workplans and facilitate peer education and life skills training. d. Work closely with university student’s mentors to plan and organize career talks and mentorship events for adolescents. e. Take lead in project, organizational and institutional meetings, take notes/minutes and work harmoniously with other stakeholders. f. Implementation of Child Protection Policy.
Resource Mobilization a. Play a key role in resource mobilization through participation in proposal development with other program staff. b. Conduct donor research via the Internet and other means to assist the project team in identifying and targeting donors and funding opportunities. c. Assist in selling organizational Products
Project Monitoring& Evaluation
a. Develop databases and data collection tools for identifying and monitoring girl’s enrolment, retention and learning performance.
b. Help in consolidation of attendance data
c. Keep records for data collected and reported.
d. Ensure evaluations of trainings and project activities are conducted and reports written and submitted to the assistant project officer.
e. Prepare activity reports and monthly reports in time for team reflection meetings.
f. Track the implementation of Child Protection.
Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities
a. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences / Communications / Education / Administration or other areas of study.
b. A minimum of 1 years of professional experience implementing youth/ adolescents SRH based programs/projects.
c. Should be Computer Literate, work well with MS Word, Power point and MS Excel and Internet research methods.
d. Highly motivated to learn and work in a high-performance environment.
e. Willingness to tackle challenges and seek creative solutions in everyday assignments.
f. Demonstrates well-developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
g. Must be able to meet urgent and last-minute deadlines, work with grace under pressure, and function well in a high-performance team.
