Africa

Inland Child and Community Agency for Development who mission is to share the

love of Christ by empowering vulnerable groups of the society through

Partnerships and sustainable programs for growth and development seeks to

recruit a person to the following positions:




1. Field Officer (2)

The Incumbent will be responsible in coordinating the implementation of HIV

prevention program among key and priority populations in Siaya.



Duties

and responsibilities:-

  • Develop

    Innovative HIV prevention interventions for comprehensive HIV/AIDS

    information and education to the vulnerable, most at risk, youths in and

    out of school and the general population in the target areas.

  • Organize

    community mobilization activities within the communities and train/assess

    performance of peer educators and home-based care volunteers.

  • Establish

    and maintain partnership and good working relations with youth groups,

    women and men groups to facilitate implementation of planned activities.

  • Collaborate

    and network with relevant partners and stakeholders to enhance service

    delivery to the community.

  • Monitoring

    behavioral change of youths and other groups benefiting from the HIV

    interventions.

  • Establish

    linkages/ referral with other organizations for youths, the HIV infected

    and the general community with various needs.

  • Participate

    in HIV prevention -related coordination/stakeholders meetings on behalf of

    the organization.

  • Set

    targets and indicators for implementation and evaluation of the

    interventions respectively, determining quality of outcomes and prepare

    monthly reports.

  • Disseminate

    and distribute HIV/AIDS materials to target audience, to improve knowledge

    and understanding and motivate behavior change.

  • Organize

    and facilitate HIV Testing and Counseling (HTC) services to the

    communities.

  • A

    Diploma in Social/Health sciences or its equivalent

  • Experience

    with and technical knowledge of current HIV/AIDS issues and trends.

  • Training

    on Behavior Change Communication

  • Good

    social and interpersonal skills.

  • Have

    the ability to work in a culturally sensitive community

  • Self-driven

    personality able to work with minimum supervision.

  • Good

    verbal and written communication skills.

  • Prior

    experience of working with the Luo community and Knowledge of the language

    an added advantage


2.

Monitoring & Evaluation Officer

Overall goal



Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer will be working, under the direct

supervision of the Program Manager but giving reports to the Monitoring and

Evaluation Specialist, with all the programme teams to implement AICCAD

monitoring and evaluation plan. 




The

M&E Officer will be mainly responsible for gathering data and input,

maintaining data, and following up and reporting progress of project

activities.

Objectives and Duties:


The M&E Officer will support the Knowledge Management and M&E team with

data collection and analysis to inform program implementation and management.


The M&E Officer will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following

detailed tasks:



  • Support

    day‐to‐day implementation of the project’s M&E

    plan, focusing on data collection methodology, data quality, and indicator

    validity.

  • Participate

    in   baseline assessments and specialized studies.

  • Maintain

    the TIH M&E database, providing timely inputs of data and supporting

    data analysis.


  • Support

    TIH technical teams in data collection.

  • Train

    and oversee short‐term

    enumerators.

  • Provide

    timely project reports

  • Liaise

    with the HMIS team in the sub-county facilities to provide quality data

    and reports

  • Capacity

    building of project staff on M&E issues.

  • Establish

    and maintain a database.

  • Bachelor’s

    degree in a relevant field.

  • At

    least 4 years of experience in M&E on donor-funded development

    projects.

  • Previous

    experience working in M&E on USAID-funded projects.

  • Demonstrated

    experience with statistical analysis programs, such as SPSS is preferred.

  • Excellent

    writing, speaking, and reading skills in English.


3. Grant

Accountant

Major areas of responsibility are to provide leadership, oversight and guidance

for the accounting and compliance for all grants, including but not limited to,

budget modifications, ensuring compliance with funding source administrative

guidelines, timely receipt of grant and contract revenue, and accurate

submission of financial and other related reports. 




Performs

functions to ensure generally accepted accounting principles and the

organization’s are followed in the preparation and presentation of financial

reports. 


Works

with Finance Manager for Accounting and Financial Reporting and other

accounting personnel to establish accounting and operating guidelines; acts as

liaison with other departments as necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities



  • Maintaining

    and updating grant budgets

  • Review

    and approval of expenses (i.e., change of funding, cost transfers, travel

    reimbursements, payment requisitions, etc.)

  • Preparing

    monthly journal entries

  • Financial

    reporting

  • Monitoring

    of expenditures

  • Preparing

    audit worksheets, schedules, reports and supporting documentation to be

    used during grant audits

  • Perform

    other relevant duties and special projects as requested.

  • Bachelor’s

    degree in Business required preferably in Accounting or Finance. 

  • Four

    years accounting experience, preferably two in non-profit

  • Must

    be ICPAK member

  • Sponsored

    programs

  • Knowledge

    of personal computer based applications including Quick books, word

    processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

  • Knowledge

    of general accounting and fiscal management principles

  • Ability

    to work with minimal supervision.

  • Ability

    to communicate effectively orally and in writing.


4.

Administration Assistant

Under the supervision of the Grant Accountant, the office assistant will

perform the following tasks;



  • Ensure

    delivery and pick up of all office mails, documents and any other

    logistical work that may be assigned by the supervisors.

  • Assist

    in getting quotations, invoices and receipts from the prospective

    suppliers and the current ones.

  • Assist

    in the filing, photocopy, faxing and scanning of office documents.

  • Send

    responses/queries raised in your department via email.

  • Perform

    any other office duties as assigned by the supervisors
