MSF Switzerland (MSFCH) is a humanitarian medical organization providing emergency medical aid to populations in need based in Dagahaley and Likoni, Mombasa Sub County.

Job Title: Skilled Labourer
 

Location: Coordination Office, Nairobi   
 

 

Start date: November 2017
 

Length of contract: 12 months fixed term contract with possibility of extension based on performance (Includes 3 month probationary period)
 

Work location: Nairobi Coordination Office

The selected candidate will be reporting Base Logistician.

Main Tasks include, but not limited to:

• Carry out specific technical and logistics works regarding his/her qualifications, according to MSF procedures and her/his superior’s instructions, in order to contribute to the construction, smooth functioning, cleanliness and repairs within MSF premises.


• Perform work in the areas of carpentry, plumbing, building-construction in health structures, offices, houses, etc.


• Screen, follow up and execute repair and maintenance works in the office and at MSF houses, including cleaning, painting, gardening and general tidying-up.


• Inspect materials and equipment, repair if minor repair is required or inform his supervisor for major repair.


• Maintain gardens by mowing, weeding, trimming, fertilising, spraying and watering.


• Take all necessary security measures for each work done and ensure the same for all his/her assistants.


• Ensure cleanliness of working, common areas.


• Look after the equipment provided.


• Inform superiors of any incident that may occur in the course of their work.


• Provide basic maintenance repair works in MSF CH office and all residence in Nairobi


• Tidy MSF compound; collect garbage and  ensure waste buckets are emptied as required


• Inform the supervisor in case of major specified repairs in MSF CH offices and internal staff residence


• With the support of the base Logistician supervise external contractors
