Automotive Mechanic at Corporate Staffing Services

Our client is a tour company that rents out Land cruisers and other 4×4 vehicles to foreign tourists. They seek to recruit a qualified Auto Mechanic who will double up as the Workshop Supervisor and will be tasked to set up and run the daily operations of a small workshop that will maintain their growing fleet of 4×4 vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Identifies with the company’s quality commitment to service delivery and implements and monitors vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair functionality.
- Inspecting vehicles, mechanical workshop facilities, managing assets through planned maintenance and control systems, and arranging for defects and/or repair and maintenance requirements.
- Plans, prioritizes, and schedules vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair work.
- Communicating and ensuring statutory and procedural health and safety requirements to subordinate personnel through the verbal and written mediums for adoption and compliance.
- Oversees that staff performs all relevant mechanical/electrical functions of the fleet.
- Coordinating and controlling the efficient running of the mechanical workshop.
- Establishing key performance indicators and measures for determining/assessing the level and appropriateness of service delivery with respect to fleet and equipment maintenance and repair work.
- Monitors the capital and operational expenditure of the mechanical workshop.
- Performs specific administrative tasks associated with the updating and maintaining of records related to the operations of the mechanical workshop.
- Coordinates and controls the administration of the mechanical workshop ensuring that registers, log books, and other departmental records are created and effectively maintained.
Qualifications
- Certificate/ Diploma in automotive engineering module II, a Driving License class BCE and at least seven years working experience.
- Or A holder of Government trade test 1 in motor vehicle mechanics, a Driving License class BCE and at least two years working experience.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge and experience repairing 4×4 vehicles including Land cruisers and similar vehicles.
- Supervisory and good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work independently.
- Attention to detail, and Computer literate.
- Good communicator and fluency in English and Kiswahili.
- Excellent best-practice mechanical skills. Absolutely no jua-kali mentality!
