About the Job: We are looking for suitable candidate to fill the following position, based in Nairobi Kenya. The position reports to the director.



Key responsibilities:




  • Identifying and writing winning proposals in East Africa and regionally.

  • Developing specific research mythologies, reporting and deliverables to each study.

  • Developing and design of data collection tools in various platforms i.e. ODK, Kobo Enketo, Survey to go, Survey monkey, CSPro e.t.c

  • Recruiting, training of data collection teams, budgeting and managing field works to ensure quality work.

  • Support project planning and management of various new and ongoing projects.

  • Data analysis, report writing, editing and preparation presentation each study conducted.

  • Provide support to company business development goals.

  • Manage each client needs and expectation for the project assigned.



Qualifications



· Bachelors/ Masters in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Rural development..



· At least 3 – 5 years of experience involved in measurement, evaluation and learning including market research.



· Excellent skills in writing winning proposals in WASH, financial, child protection and Agricultural fields.



· Experience designing, conducting and managing impact evaluations.



· Experience in designing, conducting, and managing baseline, mid-line, and end line surveys including value chain analysis.



· Evidence of advanced evaluation design and advanced statistical analysis including multi-level modeling, propensity score matching, conducting power analysis for clustered evaluations and, fluency with a statistical software package desired.



· Strong data analysis (use of Stata, SPSS, Matlab), English report writing, and presentation skills.



· Able to effectively manage activities in a multi-cultural environment.



· At least five (2-3) years of supervisory experience



· Fluency in English required and fluency in Swahili is preferred.



· Experience working with INGO’s and government is preferred.



· Willingness to work within and outside Kenya;



· Experience working in East Africa is desired.

KSG 9


The Kenya School of Government (KSG) is a State Corporation established under the Kenya School of Government Act (No. 9 of 2012).


The mandate of the School is to provide learning and development programs that enhance skills and competencies in the public service; conduct research; and offer consultancy services to inform policy. KSG has six campuses namely Baringo, Embu, Matuga, Mombasa, Nairobi and eLDi. Responsibilities



  • Process payment

  • Prepare financial management reports

  • Carry out data capture in the financial system

  • File and retrieval of accountable documents

  • Issue withholding and value added tax certificate to suppliers

  • Verify vouchers and committal documents

  • Prepare and maintain financial records

  • Analyze the below the line accounts

  • Write cheques and post payments and receipt vouchers in the cashbooks

  • Balance the cashbooks on daily basis

  • Manage petty cash for office use

  • Prepare expenditure and Authority to Incur Expenditure (AIE)

1.       Research, analyse and keep abreast of all financial related products and solutions on offer to Agricultural clients in the Kenyan, African and global markets

2.       Keep abreast of National Government policies, strategies and initiatives in areas of responsibility to ensure sustainability and identify growth opportunities and solutions for the Agri sector

10.    Hold annual meetings to update and validate Agri Valuation Guidelines, to be approved by Regional Agri Manager, before distribution to relevant stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities



· Manage and coordinate the design, development, and implementation of the agreed upon set of activities including: Phases, Task Orders and Work Plans;

Proposal Development (40%)



· Identify specific funding opportunities (Institutional donors including, US, UN, EU and other Government funding) through necessary mapping and research in the 3 country programs/emergency operations and then provide proposal development support according to agreed priorities (preparedness and readiness to respond)



· Lead and/or coordinate the timely submission/response to calls including writing high quality concept notes and proposals



· Assist remotely as well as provide in-country support for the proposal development and writing process (including log frames, work plans, budgets and monitoring templates)



· Conduct the necessary research to support the technical content of concept notes and proposals (including liaison with relevant technical staff in country)



· Maintain proper records and electronic filing systems of all drafts and final submissions and approved proposals



· Ensure that all rules and regulations required by the donor are adhered to and included in the proposal. This can include donor liaison when in the country

Key Responsibilities



Program Management




  • Overall responsibility over the planning, implementing, reporting and monitoring of the Peace and Security sector program

  • Providing overall leadership on security, governance and peace building programming, and supervising staff responsible for the implementation of project activities

  • Take lead in coordinating with the refugee leaders, Community Based Security Management (CBSM) committees, other security focal persons in the program, UNHCR, GOK and others on security issues at the camp level

Security Management




  • Develop, implement and monitor the LWF Security Plan for Kakuma in liaison with the Area Manager who is the Overall Security Focal Point and ensures the safety and security of LWF staff, visitors, assets and people of interest in line with LWF Safety and Security Policy

  • Co-ordinate and oversee security operational plans while seeking to improve security department operations, strengthen coordination, information sharing and surveillance activities to address gaps in security and align to LWF Kenya-Djibouti-Somalia Country Security Plan

Research and Design Lead, Kenya DFSA



ACDI/VOCA is promptly seeking a Research and Design Lead for the upcoming USAID Title II Development Food Security Activity (DFSA) in Kenya. The DFSA in Kenya is anticipated to be a multi-year project to address the underlying causes of chronic food insecurity. The activity will aim to sustainably reduce levels of acute malnutrition and increase food security in the most vulnerable households in northern Kenya. To achieve this, the ACDI/VOCA team will ensure the implementation of interventions designed to increase incomes, ensure access to nutritious food year-round, improve household nutrition and hygiene practices, and strengthen governance in communities affected by shocks and stresses.



The Research and Design Lead, a member of senior management team, will provide technical leadership to formative research activities, refinement of the Theory of Change, and development of a locally adapted programmatic approach to reducing acute malnutrition. S/he will be responsible for ensuring the appropriateness and rigor of research methods, overseeing data collection and analysis, and ensuring research results are useful and applicable for making program design decisions.
