Job Profile: Assistant Meter Preparation Manager
Our client is a leading gas company in the African region, they are seeking to have on board a competent Assistant Meter Preparation Manager to support their expansion strategy and maintain efficient and effective services for their clients. The job incumbent is expected to meet business demand for smart meters in a timely and cost-effective way. Do this by recruiting, training and leading the meter preparaton team, designing efficient processes, and tracking performance.

Overall Objective
Meet business demand for smart meters in a timely and cost-effective way. Do this by recruiting, training and leading the meter preparaton team, designing efficient processes, and tracking performance.
Key Result Area
- Recruit, train and oversee the Meter Preparation, Meter Repair and System Supprot teams to prepare and repair smart meters to highest standards of quality control.
- Establish and track KPIs for smart meter preparation and dispatch.
- Report progress and capacity for preparing smart meters, managing resources to meet business demand.
- Monitor stock of smart meters and spare parts, maintain records in company systems as required.
- Working with Business Development Manager and other department heads to forecast demand for smart meters and spare parts and organise replenishment in support of the M-Gas operations expansion programme.
- Ensure all assets are tracked and stored securely.
- Coordinate timely delivery and return of meters to business units.
- Work with colleagues across the business to continuously improve processes.
- Perform stock takes as required, promptly report any discrepancies in stock.
Minimum Requirements
- At least 3 years’ leadership experience working in manufacturing.
- Experience of working with similar electronic product/IoT device would be an advantage
- Degree in Electronics, Computer Science or Business Management would be an advantage
- Proven ability to motivate and lead a large team to deliver results.
- Entrepreneurial and delivery-focused approach and committed drive for results
- Outstanding organisational abilities, attention to detail
- Track record of establishing efficient business processes.
- Excellent interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills – in person, in writing and on the phone
- Ability to analyse and present data
- Strong sense of urgency/ability to work well under pressure, different priorities, and tight deadlines
- Fluent in English and Kiswahili
- Proven success of managing supply and stocks in a fast-moving environment across multiple locations.
