Management Trainee – Electrical Engineer – 2 Positions at Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company Limited

Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) was incorporated in December 2003 under the Companies Act cap 486. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nairobi City County with the main responsibility of providing and managing water and sewerage services in Nairobi, while the asset holding body, Athi Water Works Development Agency (AWWDA) is charged with the responsibility of developing key water and sewerage infrastructure.

SUPERVISES: Technicians Electrical

BROAD FUNCTION.

To ensure that water works, water supply and distribution, sewage works are improved & sustained at set levels through optimum utilization and proper maintenance and rehabilitation of all electrical equipments and instruments.

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Design and supervision of electrical systems and control panels for water and wastewater treatment plants, offices, pumping stations, generators and boreholes.


2. Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance on the items above is undertaken on regular basis.


3. Develop maintenance schedules.


4. Provide guidance and supervision of Technical Staff.


5. Supervise installation, servicing and maintenance of all electrical equipments and instruments.


6. Prepare tender documents for the installation works to be undertaken.


7. Ensure that the right quality and quantity of spare parts is maintained at appropriate levels.


8. Initiate planning and budgeting for works in the Electrical operations.


9. Monitoring and evaluation of technical works.

Requirements

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from a recognized learning institution.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Registered as Graduate Engineer with EBK/IEK.

EXPERIENCE:

• Have completed their Bachelor’s degree in the last five years

Note: The holder of the position will be deployed upon successful completion of a one and half years training period
