Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) was incorporated in December 2003 under the Companies Act cap 486. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nairobi City County with the main responsibility of providing and managing water and sewerage services in Nairobi, while the asset holding body, Athi Water Works Development Agency (AWWDA) is charged with the responsibility of developing key water and sewerage infrastructure.DIRECTORATE: Technical Services

REPORTING TO: Survey Coordinator

SUPERVISES: Survey Supervisors

BROAD FUNCTION

The Survey officer will work in close liaison with the Survey Coordinator in undertaking complex field surveys for geospatial data acquisition and ensure the timely production of work plans from field data.

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSBILITIES:

1. Undertake cadastral survey in the catchment areas, company installations and wayleaves for boundary establishment and resolution of boundary disputes.


2. Setting out engineering projects undertaken by the Company.


3. Drafting both longitudinal and cross sectional profiles from the field data.


4. Conducting geodetic surveying on the Company dams for dam safety monitoring.


5. Acquiring, collecting and gathering geo-spatial data for updating the Company GIS.

Requirements

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor Degree in Surveying or related field from recognized learning institution.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Be a graduate member of the Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK).

EXPERIENCE

• Have completed their Bachelor’s degree in the last five years.

SKILLS:

• Management skills


• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills


• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
