Motorcycle Quality Engineer at Honda Motorcycles (K) Ltd

Summary:

The Quality Engineer is an assistant technical liaison associate between Factory and Local Suppliers. The position provides for works suppliers to develop new parts, implement and monitor quality planning, and assist to coordinate the development under the guidance of the Supplier Quality Engineer. The role entails but is not limited to supplier management to assure consistently conforming parts.

This will include identifying, development, validation, performance feedback, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate interaction between Honda Motorcycle (K) Ltd and suppliers in terms of the localization function and the applicable roles;


• To identify parts and components that require localization as per the government gazette on Unassembled Motorcycles;


• Undertake localization process as per the Safety Quality and Environmental and Honda Motorcycle Production Planning Division (PPD) guidance and as per confirmed official roadmap;


• Identify local suppliers for local parts development by evaluating their technical capability and quality processes using acceptable Honda Motorcycle supplier assessment tools, e.g. Quality Audit Visit (QAV I)


• Support Parts Quality activities in ascertaining 100% quality pass to Frame Assemble supplied parts.


• Determine the root cause of supplier quality problems and implement timely and effective quality resolutions;


• Review supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems by conducting Quality Audit Visits as necessary, and monitoring supplier status with respect to Quality Cost and Delivery (QCD) aspect;


• To understand the cost builds up of local parts.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Personal Attributes Required:

• Age; 25 years and above (desirable);


• University Degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering (B.Sc; B.Tech);


• Computer Knowledge;


• Valid driving license (Motorcycle license desirable);


• Basic understanding of a motorcycle (desirable);


• Knowledge of motorcycles and motorcycle parts/ ability to troubleshoot;


• Analytical and results driven;


• Good communication skills with a positive attitude;


• Reliable, honest and be a person of high integrity;


• High organizational skills, self-driven and able to work with minimum supervision.
