Our client, a major producer and exporter of raw, processed and value added agricultural produce is looking to hire a Human Resource Manager reporting to the Managing Director. The Human resource Manager will be responsible for driving the human resource strategy and managing human resource department.
The Primary Duties of this role will include:
* Develop and implement a human resource strategy that is focused on assisting the business to meet its objective.
* Liaise with line managers to understand their business strategy and workforce requirements and develop HR /people plans accordingly
* Manage the performance management system and ensure its effective execution through the line managers.
* Coordination of the process of talent acquisition, including sourcing, recruiting and integrating newly recruited staff into the organization.
* Manage the staff training and development function including conducting TNAs, developing appropriate training interventions, maintaining a current skills inventory, managing staff career development and succession planning.
* Provide internal HR consulting services and people management guidance to line management.
* Ensure efficient and effective human resource administration services including development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, management of confidential and employee records, effective leave, benefits and payroll administration.
Required Qualities – The ideal candidate will:
* Demonstrate the ability to work independently, under pressure, and ensure timely coordination and delivery of demanding priorities.
* Have a track record of consistent achievement of performance targets within a fast-paced environment.
* Demonstrate the ability to deal sensitively with people at all levels of an organization.
* Be highly organized, paying close attention to detail and have effective time management skills.
* Have a proven ability in planning and organizing to deliver outcomes within stipulated time frames.
Required Skills – The ideal candidate will:
* Demonstrate strong negotiation skills.
* Demonstrate leadership skills
* Have well-developed communication (written/verbal), interpersonal and facilitation skills including the ability to liaise with individuals at all levels in a variety of contexts.
* Have excellent report writing and presentation skills.
Qualifications
* A degree in a human resource management from a recognized university, or any other relevant degree with a postgraduate qualification in human resources management.
* A minimum of five years’ experience working in a busy HR department. You will have a thorough understanding of HR functions and processes and broad generalist experience.
* A good understanding of employment law and working experience of implementing effective labour relations
* High level of computer skills especially in analysis tools including use of a human resource information system (HRIS), MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
The ideal candidate aged between 35 and 45 years should be highly results oriented, adaptable and flexible, with the ability to drive change and transformation. Female candidates are encouraged to apply. The salary for this position is Ksh 200,000 gross.
