Procurement Manager - Supply Categories

The Procurement Manager for the Supply categories defines the procurement and business strategy within selected categories.

The role leads cross functional teams for both sourcing and supplier management. The role also ensures the development of their team members through coaching, performance reviews and regular training.

The role requires an individual with a Bachelor degree in Commerce or a related qualification.

The individual will also need to be a qualified CIPS professional, with at least 6 - 8 years experience in line management and functional procurement experience within the FMCG industry.

Inbound Logistics Control Tower Specialist

The Inbound Logistics Specialist ensures that there is availability of raw & packaging materials, beer and spirits for distribution.

Key accountabilities for this role include providing leadership for import shipments into the country; complete and maintain a KPI’s fact file for transporters/haulers as per agreed service levels; coordinate and plan to ensure efficient inbound logistics to meet scheduled timeliness and manage the performance of third party logistics providers.

The role requires an individual with a Bachelor degree ¡n Commerce or a related qualification.

The individual will also need to have at least 5 years hands-on experience in customs clearance process operations, two of which must have been spent on port of Mombasa operations, preferably in an FMCG manufacturing environment; experienced in customs bonded warehouse management and knowledge of ISO 9001, HACCP, ISO14001 & OHSAS, 18001 standards.

Procurement Controller - CAPEX

The purpose of the role is to define procurement strategy CAPEX category and lead cross functional teams for both sourcing and supplier management.

The role requires an individual with a Bachelor degree ¡n Commerce, Engineering or a related qualification. The individual will also need to be a qualified CIPS professional, with at least 4 years functional procurement experience within the FMCG industry.

Procurement Buyer - MRO (*3 Roles)

The role holders will participate in defining the procurement strategy within selected categories and participate and lead cross functional teams for both sourcing and supplier management.

The role requires individuals with a Bachelor degree in Commerce or a related qualification.

The individuals will also need to be a qualified CIPS professional, with at least 3 years procurement experience.

Main Purpose of the job

An Operational Buyer is an employee who is authorized to order goods and/or services from external vendors. An Operational Buyer is in charge of the procurement of specific Spend Categories.

Main Responsibilities

Functional Responsibilities

In the limit of the spen categories’ scope, the Operational Buyer has the responsibility to:

Ensure delivery of goods and services to the internal user:

* at the due date and the fight place;
* in the right quantity and quality;
* at the best price, with all the required documents and accounting information;

In the limit of the spend categories’ scope, the tasks of an Operational Buyer typically include:

* Converting purchase requisitions into purchase orders
* Transmitting purchase orders to external vendors
* Monitoring timely confirmation of purchase orders (when vendor confirmation is required)
* Monitoring timely delivery of ordered goods or timely execution of ordered services
* Monitoring timely delivery of components to subcontractors(co-manufacturers, co-packers)
* Ensure the quality of data (purchasing and accounting) in the Purchase Request and in the Purchase Order
* Ensure the alignment purchasing rules and procedures
* Apply the strategic policies established by the Strategic Buyer
* Find the best solution (price and quality) for the delivery of services or goods requested in the Purchase Request
* Monitoring timely receipt of blocked and over due invoices which are not automatically trated by the invoice center
* Ensure communication with vendors; like claims, over due or blocked invoices
* Resolution of operational Issues with external vendors
* Maintain a close working collaboration with Purchase Requestors and Strategic Buyers
* Inform the Strategic Buyer when repetitive requests are done to the same supplier and when a contract with that vendor is not in place
* Run the P2P health check reports and follow up on any anomalies

Skills and Competencies

* Timely delivery of reports

* Strong knowledge of spend categories, products and suppliers

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Strategic Buyer will be responsible for developing and implementing of sourcing strategy. He/She will also undertake supplier management including integration of supplier innovation elements into the organizations process.

Responsibilities
* Develop and implement sourcing strategies and communication plan;
* Analyze and optimize the process related to the spend category through the right choice of procurement tools;
* Ensure alignment between business strategy and sourcing strategy;
* Set objectives to be achieved through the sourcing strategy and monitor achievement
* Derive negotiation strategy from category positioning and negotiate to achieve the objectives defined in alignment with the business;
* Manage suppliers according to category positioning;
* Ensure that all the key suppliers within the spend category adhere to Organizations Suppliers Code;
* Integrate innovation elements from suppliers into Organizations Innovation and Renovation processes;
* Ensure the agreed service levels with internal stakeholders are adhered to.

Requirements
* Degree in Bachelor of Commerce or Business related field from a recognized university;
* CIPS qualification;
* Minimum 3 years experience in supply chain management in an FMCG;
* Experience in delivering competitive advantage to the business through development and implementation of sourcing strategies for the spend category;
* Ability to lead projects and negotiate with cross functional and cross market teams;
* Good business writing skills and ability to use networks to influence business activity and convince others;
* Excellent interpersonal skills with good relationship building skills;
* Ability to drive results and obtain information from a team;
* A proven team player with creative problem solving skills;
* Ability to multi task, problem solve, proactive with good presentation skills and self initiative.
