Position :Investment Advisor
Duties
1. Providing guidance to companies and individuals interested in making investments:
Conducting in-depth reviews of clients’ financial circumstances, current provision and future aims
Gathering, analyzing information and preparing plans best suited to clients’ requirements and assisting them to make informed decisions
Contacting clients with new financial products or changes that that may affect their investments
Advising on the types of investments that best suit the client’s portfolio, both short and long-term
2.Prospecting for new business
Spending a significant portion of time marketing investment services
Heavy initial phone solicitation for new business
Contacting clients and setting up meetings, within the office environment or in clients’ business premises
Making presentations to groups and individuals on new and existing products and services available.
Preparation of lists of prospective/ target clients.
Maintenance of a client/ prospecting book to ensure a large client data base
Selling financial products to meet given or negotiated sales targets
Maintenance/ knowledge
Knowledge and understanding of how to assess the economic and companies situations to ensure the client’s investments will be as sound as possible
Reading company’s financial statements and to analyzing them to determine the company’s value
Assess current economic trends in regards to competition, products, and general business practices
Keeping up to date with new financial products, policies, regulations and legislation that may affect the earning potential and financial markets.
Maintenance of current product knowledge -both in the local & overseas markets
4.Managing existing investment portfolios and developing new business :
Informing clients of maturing financial investments and re-invest funds as requested
Advising clients on matters relating to dividends and interest.
Maintaining records of trades, by client and by type of security
Requesting information and documentation from clients to open accounts
Providing advice to potential clients, including the provision of investment information with a view of closing new deals
5.Prospectus writing
As required, writing or editing sections of a Memorandum or other such placement documents
Assisting as required in development of sales aids
6.Portfolio/ Programme Management:
Overall portfolio management for retail clients
Management of a selected Commercial Paper or Short-Term Note programmes
Attributes
You must have a number of specialized skills. These include:
* Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem solving skills
* Good communication skills, both oral and written
* Self-confidence
* Ability to work independently, motivated
* Detail-oriented
* Advanced knowledge of the economy, money markets, and applicable tax laws
Computer literate with the ability to create spreadsheets and statistical packages
All applicants must have some experience.
