Human Resource Intern


The intern will work closely with the resource persons of Resources Associates Limited and will be actively engaged in the growth and development of good customer relations with all assigned clients as well as overall business continuity and support.

Key Responsibilities

About the position

Successful candidates will be required to assist the organization to undertake a short term research in the month of July 2013. The research will take about two weeks. Successful candidates must have extensive experience in carrying out research and must be available during the month of July to undertake this exercise.
 To perform research on various CAP YEI Project activities.Conduct field research including informal and formal surveys.To carry our market scans as per project requirement.Prepare reports of market scans.Proven research and presentation skills.Skills to develop questionnaires and research tools.Strong methodological understandingExperience in conducting one to one interviews, group interviews and in-depth interviews. Ability to meet deadlines and handle diverse tasks simultaneously using prioritization. Strong interpersonal, leadership, and motivational skills. Excellent Presentation skills. Dynamism, creativity and flexibility. Must be flexible. Strong Research skills are essentials. Specific responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:Provide financial support for the development and organization of the activities of the projectUnder the supervision of the Chief of Party, assist in the preparation of budgets and revenue plans for the projectAnalyze all types of expenses and enters them correctly in the project accounting system, loading them in the appropriate Quicken categoriesFollow financial procedures for expenses, such as Check Requests, Purchase Orders, Justification Memos, and ensures the necessary approvals for each expensePrepare the payroll of project employees, assuring that all amounts and deductions are made accuratelyProvide financial and administrative support to the project’s consultantsSend all necessary reports to the organization’s Home Office: Bank Reconciliations, Cash Counts, and Advance Tracking in a timely mannerPrepare and processes check requisitions and checksMaintain the Quicken databaseOversee the administration and tracking of the project Petty Cash account, paying and monitoring of advances for trips and Expense Reports, and monthly payments for project utilities and all vendors and suppliersEnsures that periodic inventory of the fixed assets (property) of the company is conductedBe responsible for procurement administration and dissemination of office related procurement policies and guidelines. Job Description


Earlier this year, we opened our first maternity hospital just off Thika Road on the Eastern Bypass before Ruiru. In the coming months, Jacaranda will expand substantially, adding new facilities and services as well as refining our current systems.
To achieve these goals, we will need support in a range of areas. We seek candidates for Project Associate roles across several departments: Growth and expansion: researching new locations for Jacaranda’s growth, searching for suitable properties, negotiating with landlords and property managers, and overseeing elements of construction / other setupSales and marketing: testing new sales strategies, developing new marketing materials, etc.Service offerings and clinical operations: researching the demand for new services, benchmarking against other providers, collecting information about how we can refine our operations, etc. We are open to candidates with a range of different experiences and qualifications. Project management: able to develop the key objectives to be achieved in a project, and assign realistic timelines to these stepsExternal communications: able to represent Jacaranda to external audiences (e.g., property managers, government stakeholders, community leaders) and convey our objectives and needs effectivelyData gathering: able to compile key information from other health facilities, clients, and other sources and summarize for Jacaranda managementSuccessful candidates will need to have multiple skill sets and wear many hats. We need individuals who are passionate about maternal health care, excited about working in the community, and can work independently with minimal supervision.
