Contracts & Procurement Manager - Kenya

The Company:
Our Client is a Global Operator in the Oil and Gas Industry.

The Role:
This role supports our client's project in Kenya.

Job Purpose:
Provide leadership on delivery of in country C&P strategies and during implementation of C&P group initiatives within the business unit.

Responsibilities /Key Objectives:
Lead, manage and motivate C&P team to deliver C&P strategy using results oriented performance approaches.
Take lead position in Planning, Developing, executing and evaluating a fit for purpose C&P strategy to support Business Unit objectives, emphasizing the need to get the best services/products at the possible minimum cost.
Manage relationship with external stakeholders (suppliers, regulators) to achieve Business Unit objectives while protecting its image.
Manage relationship with internal stakeholders (other functions) to achieve business objectives by abiding by agreed upon service level standards.
Stimulate local content in contracting processes and strategy
Deliver nationalisation and succession plan in C&P Department by Coaching, grooming and mentoring and being responsible for staff training and development.

Financial Responsibility:
Subject to necessary approvals being in place pursuant to the client's Delegation of Authority (DOA), commitment authority to award purchase orders and contracts for goods, works and services.
Subject to compliance with our client's C&P Procedures, authority to endorse recommendations to award purchase orders and contracts for goods, works and services (as defined by the client's DOA).

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years at managerial level.
Contracts formulation experience with substantive exposure to all disciplines and issues within the supply chain.
Industrial Operations contracting experience, coupled with purchasing, logistics supply chain and materials management activities.
Experience working in Africa on the above is preferred
Preferably to Degree level in a business or management related subject.
CIPS preferred.

Skills:
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with diverse business drivers and variables.
Awareness of and the ability to manage exposure to commodity price volatility across the supply chain cycle.
Collaborative with heightened communications and related interpersonal skills.
Ability to influence senior management and to provide contracting expertise and advice to our client at all levels to deliver value.
Good team worker and team manager.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Commercially aware with sound business acumen.
Proactive
Delegation.
Demonstrates a personal commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment.
