The Kenya Episcopal Conference - Catholic Secretariat wishes to announce the following position in its Catholic Justice and Peace Commission

Title of the post: National Executive Secretary

Purpose of the post

To provide technical, management and leadership support to the Commission so as to ensure high level performance in conceptualizing, formulating and implementing appropriate initiatives for National – level Justice and peace interventions and enhance the capacity of dioceses.

Type of Appointment: Contract.

Reporting Line: To Secretary General

Duties

Spearhead the development and review of key strategies and plans related to the CommissionManage and lead the technical implementation of the Commission’s strategy and plans ensuring that services adhere to the overall strategy and mandate of the KEC-CS.Spearhead the conceptualization, formulation and implementation of National –Level advocacy and Peace Building initiatives.Foster and strengthen national –level networking s of various Catholic Services to people displaced by clashes ( conflict – related IDPS )Develop initiatives for KEC ‘s policy Advocacy and influence on National trends on pressing issues touching on Good GovernanceDevelop proposals for fundraising to support Catholic Justice and Peace programmeTo provide leadership to the Commission as a member of Senior management TeamPrepare progress reports to KEC, Donor and other stakeholdersA Masters Degree in relevant field (Human Rights ,Advocacy Policy analysis)Minimum 5 years experience management and implementation of civic Education or policy analysis KenyaDemonstrate leadership and management abilities in working with other technical advisors and experts Justice and peace issuesSelf driven and strategic thinker able to work without supervision and proactive in designing Catholic Justice and Peace promoting programmesShould have excellent Communication skillsMust demonstrate high level of initiative , honesty, dynamic strategic thinkingMust have good interpersonal skillsA person of attested integrityComputer literacy in Word, Excel, Power PointStrong Oral and written communication skills required.
