Project/Proposal Summary:
Management Systems International (MSI) was awarded the Kenya Program Support Project which will provide verification, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting for USAID/Kenya’s entire portfolio of projects country-wide. MSI will support USAID/Kenya in meeting day to day information needs for GOK ministries and other development partners in Kenya who are supporting Mission overall goals.
Position Summary:
The facilitator will be responsible for leading a facilitated agricultural session under the supervision of the Team Leader.
**Please note: This is a local position. Only those with Kenyan citizenship will be considered.**
Responsibilities:
• Serve as the key technical agricultural expert to advise and coordinate all stakeholder discussions.
• Encourage stakeholders to share their ideas and concerns more openly and objectively.
• Develop supportive mechanisms that will recognize stakeholder’s contributions in the discussion forum.
• Develop the workshop design to suit the needs and interests of the stakeholder groups in their discussion.
• Develop the workshop design to incorporate strategies to ensure participant and stakeholder learning.
• Develop multiple interactive sessions including group activities, question/answer sessions, brainstorming, exchange of problems/solutions etc.).
• Develop workshop summary report and submit to the Team Leader.
Qualifications:
• Master of Agricultural Sciences or relevant subject area (a PhD would be preferable).
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in agricultural research and a firm understanding of the agricultural sector in Kenya, including knowledge of key stakeholders.
• Must have work experience with the National Agriculture Research System in Kenya and developed basic understanding of agriculture research innovations.
• Should possess a working knowledge of agriculture sector performance and farmer adoption of seed technologies.
• Strong public speaking skills necessary, including moderation of forums and facilitation of multi-stakeholder workshops/conferences.
