Head of Food Security Job in Kenya

Head of Food Security, Africa

(Based in Kenya)

The Head of Food Security, Africa is responsible for the overall Profit and Loss in Sub-Saharan Africa and growing the business of the product lines.

Key Responsibilities include:

Implementing Food Security regional strategy and instilling corporate culture and valuesDefining regional strategic business plans and meeting budgets for the entire portfolio, in cooperation with internal stakeholdersAchieving budgeted targets as outlined under the Africa Food Security P&LLeading in new market entry strategies, identifying business development opportunities and driving regional sales growthBuilding and maintaining a strong network with new and existing stakeholders, including proposal and program analysisAmbitious, enthusiastic, and passionate to make a differenceConfident self-starter with a competitive drive, initiative and decisivenessAble to learn quickly the technical solutions and to discuss technical issues within the company’s business areaGoal oriented, can set and meet ambitious targets, handle strict deadlines and prioritize workGifted relationship developer with good communication skillsAble to think out-of-the box during the idea phase, pragmatic work style in the implementation phaseFlexible, can adapt to the changing needs of the company and thrive in an often hectic environment characterized by interesting, urgent and often unpredictable tasksEffective team builderMasters in Business Administration or equivalentBachelor’s degree in agricultural science / economics / business or related fieldMust have 8 -10 years in sales and market development in African crop and livestock industryMust have experience in sales to governments, tender and donor related NGO businessesExperience in influencing regional stakeholders, navigating in complex multicultural environments and managing a complete P&LFluency in written and spoken English  (French knowledge is a considerable added advantage)Be prepared to travel extensively throughout the regionInterested and qualified applicants should send their applications and CV’s stating their current and expected salary to recruit@idp-ea.com not later than 6th March 2013. Clearly indicate the position applied for on the subject of the application email.
