Senior Field Civil Engineer - Kenya

Opportunity to join a leading global Oil & Gas Operator that is looking to recruit a Senior Field Civil Engineer to join them on a contract basis based in Kenya on a 28/28 rotation.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Make day to day decisions regarding civil construction with minimal supervision to deliver the agreed Operator's work scope
* Day to day communication with in-country Drilling Supervisor to ensure that Well Engineering project requirements are met
* Hold regular progress meetings with Contractor and Consultant
* Prepare scopes of work, bills of quantity, schedule estimations and technical specifications for planned activities
* Provide decision support information to Operation and Well Engineering Managers with respect to civil works requirements related to different projects
* Agree supervision plans with Consultant's engineers
* Monitor financial and physical progress of works on site to ensure timely delivery of projects within agreed budget
* Provide technical support for civil projects by checking designs prepared by civil Consultants
* Report site progress to Civil Engineering or Project Manager
* Areas covered include design, construction and maintenance of:
* Well pads
* Structural facilities, both soil, concrete and metal;
* Access roads;
* Assess the performance of Contractors and Consultants against the following Key Performance Indicators

The ideal candidate will have:

* Bsc. Degree in civil engineering preferred
* At least 5 years in Civil Engineering works
* At least 10 years in a similar role
* Sound technical skills
* Ability to maintain an overview of entire projects while continuing to attend to detailed technicalities
* Management ability and supervisory skills
* Fully conversant with MS Office, AutoCAD
