Industrial Relations Officer Job in Kenya

Our client is in the Hospitality industry currently recruiting an Industrial Relations officerA description of the key responsibilities incumbent in this key post is provided below;1. Communication with the labour union: Liaise with unions, labor departments and COTU on employee - related matters and building of constructive relationships between all stakeholders. Implementation of regular meetings between management and organized labour while facilitating and maintain a good working relationship with unions and union official
2. Organisations hearing and investigations: Participate actively in organisation hearings i.e. disciplinary and performance management hearings of unionized staff
3. Minimum wage rate management: Conduct surveys and research on workers remuneration, labor negotiations, HR policies and procedures, employee retention schemes and make recommendations for implementation as necessary.4. Educating company staff: Educate workers regularly on company policies and procedures and workers Collective Agreements5. Disciplinary process and grievances handling: Coordinate employee disciplinary issues are fairly and consistently implemented and in accordance with workers condition of service across all department6. Advice to all departments on union related issues: Assist in the development and strategy to promote effective communication between management and employees and Advice, consult, facilitate and sensitise on Industrial Relations structures and procedures for the day-to-day practical aspects of an Industrial Relations function. Consult and advise management and employees with regard to legislation, policies and procedures7. Disciplinary and grievance  procedures: Manage the implementation and application of disciplinary and grievance procedures and policies8. Industrial Relations Training: Together with the Training Manager Conduct and develop Industrial Relations related training for relevant personnel9. Company labour related policies and procedures: Maintain and update all labour related policies and procedures, ensuring the enforcement and adherence of these policies and procedures by advising and monitoring management and staff10. Collective Bargaining Negotiations: Facilitate and conduct negotiations/consultations at departmental level within the framework of the company’s policy. Monitor, review, and suggest interventions to optimise collective agreements
A Bachelor’s degree in HRA Diploma in lawProven certifications of training in Industrial RelationsMinimum of 5 years related experienc
