General Manager (Activity Centre & Lodge)
Our Client is looking to recruit a General manager who is energetic, dynamic, and experienced, to manage an Adventure Centre and a Lodge.
The ideal candidate MUST be able to embody the brand personality in all operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruiting, managing, training and monitoring staff and supporting staff development.
- Planning appropriate programs of outdoor activities for individuals and groups.
- Ensuring that equipment and facilities are safe and that guests are instructed in safety procedures.
- Put in place effective security systems and carry out periodic inspections.
- Assessing risk and acting upon any issues arising from this assessment.
- Overseeing and maintenance of the electric fencing for security.
- Work with the sales and marketing team to develop campaigns and offers.
- Assisting the marketing effort through generating promotional literature, internet & networking.
- Generating income by hiring out facilities for other types of activity.
- Develop with the management team annual operating plans.
- Dealing with the financial management of the centre and reporting to the board on the same.
- Forecast budget/revenue and operating/capital expenditure for the hotel.
- Ensure all hotel operations are compliant with all licensing laws, health and safety codes, labour laws, and other statutory regulations.
- Liaising with the Kenya Forest Service, Kenya Wildlife Service & other forest associations.
Qualifications
- Personality traits: enthusiastic, respectful, and fresh.
- Degree in business/hotel management or equivalent experience, health and safety accreditation.
- Qualification in first aid would be a plus
- 5 Years + experience in hotel management, with experience in F&B management and outdoor activities.
- Working knowledge of various computer software programs.
- Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently.
- Mastery in delegating multiple tasks and overseeing them.
- Effective team management and leadership skills.
- Enthusiastic and energetic hands on individual.
- Outstanding communication skills.
- Up to date with best practices.
- Ability to meet financial targets.
- Guest-oriented and service minded.
Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 200,000/= (Approx. 2,000 USD)
