Sous Chef Job in Kenya (300K)

Our client, a Premier French, Gourmet and Fine Dining Restaurant In East Africa is seeking to recruit a Sous Chef. 

The ideal candidate will demonstrate honesty and integrity, high level of discipline and cleanliness, high end food preparation skills, an outstanding attitude and very good people skills. 

The ideal candidate MUST have experience working in South Africa.

Key Responsibilities;

• Help in the preparation and design of all food and drinks menus.


• Produce high quality plates, both design and taste wise.


• Ensure servings have very high culinary standards.


• Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets the quality standards.


• Deputize the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary.


• Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation.


• Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedule and assess staff’s performance.


• Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately.


• Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards in the  kitchen environment.


• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.


• Carry out lots of kitchen administrative works, along with other kitchen-related duties.


• Oversee food storage and purchase.

Qualifications;

• Bachelor’s degree in culinary science/F&B production or a related discipline.


• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a sous chef in a busy 4 – 5 star kitchen.


• Good knowledge of HACCP and HACCP certificate.


• Computer literate.


• International experience is a plus.


• Have excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.


• Good knowledge in hygiene and sanitization.


• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and planning skills.

Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 200,000 – 300,000/= plus other benefits (Approx. 2,000 – 3,000 USD) depending on experience
