Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) was incorporated in December 2003 under the Companies Act cap 486. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nairobi City County with the main responsibility of providing and managing water and sewerage services in Nairobi, while the asset holding body, Athi Water Works Development Agency (AWWDA) is charged with the responsibility of developing key water and sewerage infrastructure.Ref: NCWSC/TD/W.WWO/2021

BROAD FUNCTION

The Technician is responsible for overseeing a gang of Operators/artisans in implementing technical works on the ground, in relation to operations and maintenance of Water and Waste Water systems.

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Organize and allocate duties to the water and waste water operation and maintenance teams.


2. Receive and analyze the water/waste water works (instructions to do work) and plan daily work.


3. Prepare daily progress reports on work done in the field.


4. Supervise and ensure safe keeping of tools and equipment.


5. Collect relevant data from the field to be used for planning.


6. Ensure that artisans have the necessary working tools to facilitate their work in the field.


7. Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance on water/sewer infrastructure is undertaken on regular basis.

Requirements

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Diploma in Water Engineering from a recognized learning institution.

EXPERIENCE:

At least 2 years’ experience in a busy water and waste water environment.

SKILLS:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
