Duties and Responsibilities



  • Ensuring that IT systems are adequately protected, provide reliable information, and are properly managed.

  • Make sure that IT systems are well protected and able to function properly.

  • Performing audits of the information technology governance structure, general, and data application controls, data integrity, and system security.

  • Provide recommendations and guidance on IT issues to leadership, perform periodic risk assessments, and propose and prioritize audits based on risk.

  • Conduct information control reviews to include system development standards, operating procedures, system security, programming controls, communication controls, backup and disaster recovery, and system maintenance.

  • Should be current on the latest computer technology, equipment, or systems.

  • Input of the Annual Internal Audit Plan

  • Providing support for sophisticated data analysis and extraction through computer assisted audit techniques.

  • Develop audit programs and test for tasks being carried out.

  • Discuss any internal audit findings and agree on the way forward; thereafter follow up implementation of audit recommendations.

  • Perform investigative and forensic audits as may be required from time to time.

  • Supporting financial and/or operational audits on specific audit assignments involving advanced IT audit considerations.


Minimum Qualifications and Experience



  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or IT or any other relevant / related field.

  • Professional Qualifications / Membership to a relevant professional body.

  • Certified Internal Systems Auditor (CISA); or CISM; and CAATs.

  • Technical Expertise IPPF and Information Systems Auditing Standards, Governance, Risk and Control and Business Acumen.

  • Proficiency in computer applications.

  • Experience in a healthcare institution is an added advantage.

  • At least three (3) years’ relevant working experience .
