Salary: London: circa 35K, Edinburgh: circa 30K, NL: circa 38K - depending on experience and other locations pending local benchmark

The Talent Management, Leadership & Learning Team designs, implements and proactively integrates programs that build and sustain high performing and engaged team members across Mercy Corps. THE POSITION


People with Possibility is Mercy Corps’ neuro-science grounded approach to building strong managers and teams together. It forms part of our commitment to organizational agility and emergent strategy. After successful implementation of the program since 2018 , Mercy Corps is looking for a strong team member who can lead on the program’s next phase, primarily focusing on providing support to leaders across the agency to roll the initiative across our 5,000 strong member team, develop mechanisms for ongoing sustainability and integrate the core practices across other initiatives so that the tenants of People with Possibility are truly embedded into the culture of the organization and impact of the program is regularly measured.


In this role, you will use your project management, communication, stakeholder relationships and leadership skills to coordinate and lead the delivery and improvement of the People with Possibility program . Strong collaboration will be a requirement and an ability to integrate gender, diversity, inclusion and a culture of belonging across all programs will be critical


KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY


Program Management


● Responsible for overall program management of the People with Possibility program and future management & leadership programs.


● Facilitate or assist with facilitation of People with Possibility (PwP) kickoff sessions globally.


● Communicate with the organization about People with Possibility using Workplace and other means, to keep engagement and interest high.


● Partner with Programs Manager,Talent Management, Gender Diversity and Inclusion (GDI) Senior Advisor to ensure representation and promotion of the program at strategically important organisational events.


● Represent PwP and the broader People and Strategy function at external and internal gatherings as required.


● Set up and maintain a global rollout structure and process designed to reach everyone in the organization.


● Set up and maintain regional communities of practice. This will require selecting regional focal points, engaging with virtual communities of practice to maintain enthusiasm and momentum, and setting up master classes , training of trainers , and other additional content for our online and in-person communities.


Program Strategy & Vision


● Look for opportunities for integration of PwP practices and principles into other agency initiatives (e.g. PM@MC and GDI, Performance with Possibility) and build out collaboration.


● Build capacity with key People and Learning and Leadership Team members to be able to support and advocate for PwP (to include but not be limited to external presentations and internal training, kickoffs)


● Integrate PwP and other leadership programs into the entire Mercy Corps talent management strategy, making connections across the People Team and to global strategic initiatives.


● Design an impact measurement methodology and structure to track the impact of People with Possibility, and inform adaptive changes to the program.


● Maintain a system for tracking global participation in People with Possibility and future leadership programs.


● Track requests for changes in the program or content for biannual updates to the online tools and program.


● Maintain and make improvements to the People with Possibility web platform.


Accountability


REPORTS DIRECTLY TO: Programs Manager, Talent Management


SUPERVISES: Part time administrative support


WORKS DIRECTLY WITH: Talent Acquisition Team, Global Human Resources, Finance, Learning & Development, People Systems and Analytics team, Regional Leadership (RD & DRD) and Country Directors, All HQ and Global teams


Accountability to Participants and Stakeholders


Mercy Corps team members are expected to support all efforts toward accountability, specifically to our program participants, community partners, other stakeholders, and to international standards guiding international relief and development work. We are committed to actively engaging communities as equal partners in the design, monitoring and evaluation of our field projects.


KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:


● 3+ years of directly related experience, preferably including organisational development or learning project management in complex international organisations.


● Ability to work with multiple stakeholders at all levels and build trust and confidence


● Concrete experience in background in learning and development and online facilitation.


● Experience using monitoring and evaluation tools to evaluate program impact.


● Experience in rolling out and sustaining organizational wide initiatives and managing organizational change.


● Proven experience of advocacy and networking with senior leaders within an organization.


● Understands and is familiar with internal communication practices that promote team member engagement within a culturally diverse international organisation.


● Demonstrated project management experience; able to anticipate challenges and recommend changes positively and proactively.


● Excellent communication skills through demonstrated persuasive communication and knowledge sharing at all levels of the organization, in person and virtually.


● Ability to think creatively to look at current practices and think differently and innovatively to design best methods for development utilizing technology


● Multilingual is a ‘plus’ (English required with French as a second language).


SUCCESS FACTORS: The successful candidate will have a passion for learning and development and support team development within the context of the work that Mercy Corps does. They will have experience facilitating training and supporting others to roll out organizational training. They will also be highly organized , have an attention to detail and have experience in overseeing the roll out of initiatives and the ability to track metrics and evaluate success and learning. They will be able to build networks and relationships at multiple levels within the organization and have experience in managing change. The successful candidate will have a growth mindset and be able to effectively role model the practices that People with Possibility promotes.


LIVING / ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: This position is based in Portland, Oregon. It requires minimal domestic and/or international travel in support of the Global Internship Program. Work on weekends and evenings may be required. Mercy Corps Team members represent the agency both during and outside of work hours when deployed in a field posting or on a visit to a field posting. Team members are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner and respect local laws, customs and MC's policies, procedures, and values at all times and in all in-country venues.
