Location: Kenya - Nairobi
This role enhances the capacity of Plan International country offices in the region to program from a rights based perspective by providing technical advice and regional leadership in global advocacy efforts and campaigns.
Please note that this is a local position.
Skills and qualifications
- Degree level, Masters will be an added advantage, minimum of 5 years experience in child rights issues in the NGO / voluntary sector, including policy development.
- Experience in development, management and implementation of advocacy campaign strategies.
- Understanding of the Convention of the Rights of the Child and other rights instruments.
- Experience in representation at national and international level.
- Conceptual, strategic thinking and analytical skills.
- Excellent writing and editing skills with ability to produce excellent written materials including investigative reports, press releases and policy documents to a consistently high standard for a range of audiences.
- Excellent written and verbal English.
- Work well with people at all levels, from different countries and cultures
