This position provides an opportunity to support exciting advocacy initiatives and campaigns on women’s human rights in a stimulating, multicultural and dynamic environment.
The position may involve travel within Kenya, Africa and other parts of the world.
Responsibilities
The Programme Assistant will support the Advocacy Officer and other staff members when required, in managing the following activities as part of implementing the FEMNET Strategic Plan (2011 – 2013) and the Advocacy Unit Annual work plans:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in women’s or gender studies, international relations or other relevant fieldDemonstrated commitment to advancing women’s rights and gender equalityExperience in women’s rights work, preferably at sub-regional or regional levelExperience in communications including electronic communicationsProven skills in administration, organization and problem solvingExceptional verbal and written communication skillsHigh levels of initiative, creativity and self-motivationAbility to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and willing to perform diverse tasks as neededSolid knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher and SkypeBi-lingual in English and French (preferably)Ability to travel as neededThe remuneration package is competitive and will be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
