Abt Associates Knowledge Management Technical Specialist (KM Lead) Job in Kenya

Abt Associates is seeking a full-time, Nairobi-based Knowledge Management Technical Specialist (KM Lead) for the USAID-funded AfyaInfo project in Kenya.

The AfyaInfo project is focused on transforming the National Health Information System and the KM Task Lead will be a full time, senior technical employee who will support this transformation.

The KM Task Lead will work closely with project staff and GOK counterparts in the health sector to:

identify data needs and develop a demand for valid, accurate and timely data at all levels of the health system;identify current data sources as well as gaps;support the analysis and use of data throughout the health system;support data reporting formats that meet the needs of health service providers, managers and policy decision makers; anddevelop a system to capture, analyze, and disseminate data and track health system trainings and capacities for data generation and use.Provide strategic leadership in KM assessments and activitiesEngage and work in partnership with the GOK to ensure all activities are aligned to GOK prioritiesEngage health system stakeholders/end users to identify their data needsBuild the capacity of the health ministries to generate demand for quality health information, develop a range of information products responsive to this demand, and establish dissemination forums and systems to ensure use of these productsLead and/or actively participate in the development and updating of standards, tools and approaches for data generation, analysis, and useIdentify training needs for data generation, management and useLead and provide technical direction in the development of a training strategy for integration of current and new tools and concepts for data generation, management and useManage the development of a standardized training curricula and trainee performance criteriaGuide, coordinate and collaborate with project staff and partners in the implementation, management, monitoring and evaluation of trainingBuild lasting in-country capacity to deliver KM trainingsDevise an exit strategy to ensure the sustainability of the KM systemDocument and present program results and lessons learned to the Chief of Party, USG, MoH, and other key stakeholders.Ensure KM strategy activities are conducted in coordination with ongoing project activitiesManage project activities and staff who are contributing to the KM stream of workOther duties as assignedAdvanced degree in public health (with HMIS emphasis preferred), public administration, or a related professional degree and 10 years of relevant professional experience in health data generation and use.Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary, multicultural teams and monitor effortsDemonstrated ability to engage and work with stakeholders at all system levelsA proven, successful record of achieving results, preferably in a difficult working environmentDemonstrated expertise in M&E.Excellent writing, computer, management and organizational skills necessary.Experience in training desirableExperience in implementing USAID-funded projects in Kenya is excellentFluency in English is required, language skills in Kiswahili, and other langaguages of Kenya are highly preferred.Please send all applications to KenyaJobs@abtassoc.com.
