IT Officer and Underwriting Clerk Jobs in Industrial Area, Nairobi Kenya

Our client is a well established business based in Industrial Area which offers insurance brokerage services in areas of both motor and non-motor insurance.

We are seeking applications from candidates who are immediately available to fill the following positions:

IT Officer

(Kshs.20 - 25,000/=)

This is an IT support role to the entire team that ensures availability of IT systems.

Key responsibilities for the role holder include:

Maintenance of website and email communication systemMaintenance of client databaseManage mini projects such as software and applications upgradesEnsure appropriate maintenance of IT equipment in liaison with external vendors as necessaryTroubleshooting and problem resolutionProviding support to the team on software and hardware issuesSuccessful applications should possess the following
Diploma in computer sciences or related fieldAt least 1 year experience in a similar roleGood interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team and provide necessary technical supportExcellent working knowledge of Ms Office packages with ability to coach othersExperience in database management and maintenanceWeb-maintenance experience would be an added advantageHigh degree of honesty and integrityUnderwriting Clerk

(Kshs.18,000/=)

To process non-motor insurance coverage requests from clients including documentation, assessment and calculation of premiums and other charges in liaison with Insurers

The duties of the role holder include:

Analyzing insurance applications and raise proposals to insurersReview policy documents and confirm for correctness and recommend amendments where necessaryDraft correspondence to Insurers in respect to policiesOriginate instructions to insurers for policy renewals, extensions and endorsement and make follow-ups on telephone or in writingCheck correctness of debits prior to passing copies to the Accounts department for postingOccasionally negotiate tariff rates with insurersRegular interactions with clients and insurers both in writing and on telephone mostly responding to various queries or provision of informationThe successful candidate must possess the following minimum criteria and personal qualities:
Diploma in Insurance related studiesAt least 6 months experience in an insurance firm or brokerage with some understanding of insurance documentation and proceduresBasic numeracy and analytical skills with good attention to detail.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packagesAbility to communicate in good business English (both written and oral)Good personal organizational skills with ability to prioritize own workloadAbility to work independently and to cope with pressure and responsibility.Strong interpersonal and communication skills; good team worker; multicultural sensitivity to deal with diverse clientsClient relationship/Customer care skillsPlease apply indicating your suitability to this role, together with a copy of your updated resume, and your current salary and benefits package to:
