General/Country Manager - Kenya

Hays Oil & Gas has been chosen to work with an oil and gas company involved in acquisition and commissioning of oilfields and exploration assets across a number of locations in Africa.

Due to company growth in the region, we are now looking for 3 EXPAT General/Country Managers to head up operations in Kenya, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon. This is a full time and not rotational job – relocation is required.

The ideal candidate will have experience in managing a country office and come from oil and gas drilling background with service history for the military.

Duties and responsibilities:

Act as a Principle in all in-country matters as directedSet-up and maintain office and residencesPrepare and maintain budget and associated forecasts for in-country operationsRecruit and manage of in-country staffOrganise in-country travel and accommodation for visitors and contractors as requiredEstablish and maintain appropriate relationship with key personnel in NOCs, Immigration Ministry, Finance Ministry, Embassies and other relevant government authoritiesConducting meetings with local officials and keep them informed and company’s progress and activitiesMaintain network with oil industry representatives as requiredMonitor competitor activity and feedback summary to Operations DirectorSupervise and direct the Deputy General manager and Financial Controller

This is an expatriate role and will require relocation to the chosen country.

Salary range: £100-130k EXPAT benefits.
