Essential requirements:
Must hold a Degree in Business Administration or, Human Resource Management.Must have a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience.HND in HR Management or CPS III Will be an added advantageAdditional Desirable qualifications:5 years experience in providing human resource support services in a large organizational setup.Computer literacy in Microsoft office suite, Human Resource Information systems and ERPAbility to prioritize workload of self and program team members and balance conflicting demands.Ability to lead and work within a team and in a diverse cultural environment.Excellent interpersonal skills, initiative and resourcefulnessJob PurposeThe incumbent will assist the Human Resources Chief in providing oversight to a range of Human Resources Functions related to Recruitment & Selection, Compensation & Benefit Administration, Training & Development, Welfare Programs and Separation & Grievance Procedures.
Major Duties: The Deputy Human Resources Manager serves as a full deputy to the Human Resources Chief, sharing responsibility for the Department-wide functions noted above and for leading the HR Branch staff.
Major functional areas include;
Informed by feedback, advise the HR Chief on Policy development and implementation in a wide range of areas, including recruitment and staffing, labor and employee relations, compensation, and benefits Administration, performance management, welfare programs, and others.Coordinate HR program evaluation, organizational assessments, and human Resources surveys through preparation of HR reports.Supervise and appraise the performance of the HR staff.Collect industry salary levels and prepare an analyzed salary survey report for management consideration.Oversee the day to day HR operations, by handling of staff and project manager’s matters through the manning of HR Helpdesk.Coordinate development and implementation of HR Management Information Systems that will provide current information to management through centralized personnel records, employee cv databases and job applicant tracking system.Assist the HR Chief in HR Budget formulation.As a member of the HR Branch’s executive team, play a key role in implementing the Human Resources Chief’s Management Agenda and the Branch strategic plan.Represent the HR Branch in cross functional administrative and project meetings/forumsAny other relevant duty as assigned by management.Terms of Employment: A 1 year renewable contract as per KEMRI scheme of service. Probation period for the first 3 months.
