POSITION SUMMARY
The organization is currently seeking to appoint an Accounts Assistant to manage its financial operations.
Duties/Assignments:
The Finance Officer will:
• Oversee the financial operations of the organization and ensure timely and accurate financial reports and practices including cash management, payroll, financial disbursements, ledgers etc.
• Responsible for entering financial information and maintaining all financial records for projects and for the organization.
• Preparing and maintaining donor agreements and staff contracts.
• Manage financial control, prepare and analyze budgets, develop financial reports, and make recommendations to the organization on budget expenditures.
• Obtain approvals from the Director on all procurements and purchases for the projects and for the organization.
• Monitor the expenditures to ensure that program funds are utilized appropriately by the close of the fiscal year.
• Provide orientation and training to the organization staff on cost-effective management.
• Ensure that all financial reporting is completed on time.
• Oversee the financial audits of all projects of the organization.
• Provide financial inputs for proposal development, project management, Human Resource Management policies, logistics, travel and other areas of administration.
• Manage investment Accounts, and reconciliation of investment records
QUALIFICATIONS
• Accounting qualifications CPA, ACCA
• A Recent Graduate
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• The ability to maintain clear and accurate financial records
• Computer literacy and the ability to use various specialist applications
• Good administrative skills
• An organised and methodical approach to working
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A polite cheerful attitude, particularly when meeting clients
• An honest and discreet attitude when dealing with company accounts
• A willingness to undertake professional development
• The ability to work to deadline and to balance a number of conflicting demands
