USIU is seeking to recruit qualified candidates for the position listed below. 

Chief Accountant

Job Purpose: Overall responsibility of applying sound financial controls and proper accounting of the University’s assets.

Responsibilities:

Overseeing the accounting function of the University, including supervision of staff. Managing the student debtor account, ensuring timely payments of school fees and development of payment plans where necessary. Leading the annual audit by preparing the final accounts and audit schedules, and ensuring tax compliance.Ensuring integrity of all accounting ledgers.  Review the master budget to ensure that departmental budgets have been captured accurately.Ensuring taxation issues (PAYE, Withholding Tax and VAT on imported services) and in compliance.Graduate degree in business administration, commerce, accounting, finance, economics or equivalent.Professional Qualifications: CPA (K) or ACCA Other Requirements: Member of ICPAK or relevant accounting professional body

Skills required: Computer proficiency skills

Minimum Experience: At least five (5) years relevant professional experience in the same capacity
