Assisted Partner Notification Services which is a partnership between the National AIDS and STI Control Program (NASCOP), Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), and the University of Washington is currently seeking qualified and competent persons to fill the following position for a clinical trial about HIV.
Assistant Study Coordinator (Kisumu) -1 Post
A career interest in HIV/STI research and training is strongly preferred. The successful applicant will be responsible for supervision of study sites within Western and Nyanza, collection and analysis of data. S/he must be able to work with minimal supervision and be ready to work long hours when necessary.Bachelor’s degree in Medicine (MBChB or equivalent) Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists BoardCertification in Human Subjects Protection and Good Clinical PracticeDemonstrated ability to plan, lead, coordinate, and accomplish research activitiesStrong analytic, organizational, written, and verbal communication skillsAbility to work in a team environmentAbility to travel to different study sites in Western and Nyanza ProvincesResponsibilities will include:Training staff at multiple field sites in KenyaManaging study ethics and human subjects protectionDatabase development and managementOversight of study implementation at VCT sites in Western and Nyanza KenyaPreparation of research reportsPlease note that the appointment is on a one year contract term renewable on mutual agreement and availability of funds.
