Marie Stopes Contracts Manager Job in Nairobi Kenya (KShs 144K - 200K)

Reports To: Deputy Director Programme Operations
 Liaises With: Programmes department and the other Departments
 Salary: Kshs. 144,000 - 200,000
 Purpose of the Role: This position reports to Deputy Director Programme Operations and is part of the Programmes Operations Strategy Unit. The purpose of the post is to ensure that MSK develops and manages excellently all the contractual obligations it has with donors, developing new ones with the team so that grant income continues to complement the income raised through MSK’s social enterprise model. 
While the channel implementing teams take responsibility for the day to day delivery of work according to our contracts, this post will provide essential coordination, oversight and follow up of MSK’s grant income whether at development, delivery or reporting stages. 
Working closely with the Finance Depts grant manager the primary outcome of this role will be satisfied and new donors.
 Grant development coordination and bidding
Developing together with Deputy Dir Progamme Operations and finance colleagues a pipeline of potential projectsIdentifying and responding to  new grant opportunities Working in close collaboration with field teams, gathering information needed and, with them, making convincing proposals (narrative and budgets) in accordance with donor guidelines in the furtherance of MSK strategy.  Providing training where needed on proposal and report- writing skillsGrant delivery and coordination of on-going progress reporting
Establishing  and monitoring grant-tracking systems to meet contract deadlines Liaising closely with Finance Officer Grants on financial recording and burn rateGathering necessary data on time for reportingRespond to impromptu information needs as required Participate in staff training to improve reporting from the fieldWorking closely with the R,M&E team ensure that end-of-grant reporting requirements (data on activities, finances etc) are in place Collate final reports from field teamsSubmit on timeAddress any information requestsMaintain an excellent archive of all project informationBachelor’s Degree in Social Science, Project Management or any other relevant disciplineProject Cycle Management training will be an advantagePost graduate training is also desirable.Over 3 years experience in project management in donor related projects.Organisation and excellent writing and reporting skills are critical with high word processing and excel proficiencyAbility and experience in making logical arguments for successful proposalsExcellent understanding of MSK/MSI’s social enterprise model and its specific relevance with donorsExcellent understanding of donor contract requirementsProven experience in budget design and management of disbursement essentialCommunication skills and proven ability to work with field teams to develop and articulate ideasHighly persuasive in managing donor relations and project progress reportsInitiativeInnovativeEffective CommunicationResponsiveWorking EfficientlySharing InformationFocus on LearningCommitmentDrivenAccountableEmbracing ChangeMotivatedTeam PlayerApplications quoting the position title with detailed CVs with contact details of 3 referees (1 of which should be immediate, 1 former supervisor and any other) should be submitted to:
