(Junior) Investment Manager

In order to further strengthen the commitment of KfW Group towards sustainable development in Africa, KfW Group seeks to fill the position of (junior) Investment Manager in the KfW/DEG Group-Office in Nairobi. The (junior) Investment Manager will be part of DEG’s local origination team.

Key Responsibilities

Your core role will be to contribute to new business origination for debt, equity and mezzanine transactions in the East African region.  In particular, you will be expected to:Develop debt, equity and mezzanine-relevant business contacts in companies, financial institutions and development finance institutions in the region in close co-operation with DEG’s industry departmentsSupport the investment business through research on potential clients and markets; organizing workshops and meetings to enhance networking and information sharingStructure and negotiate transaction termsDraft internal approval papers (clearance in principle) and Letters of Intent (LOI) or Mandate LettersCoordinate with Co-Lenders; Investor GroupSupport the due diligence of investment projects, including development impact, commercial and financial evaluationManage the relationship with clients throughout the deal cycle including support to the portfolio companiesGraduate of business administration, finance, economics or a related field. Advanced graduate degree preferred, CFA qualification is an added advantage.
