The overall mandate of the NBA is to exercise the general supervision and control over the transfer, handling and use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) with a view to ensuring safety of human and animal health as well as the provision of an adequate level of protection of the environment.
NBA is the competent authority of the Government of the Republic of Kenya mandated to regulate all activities involving GMOs in food, feed, research, industry, trade and environmental release.
NBA seeks to recruit dynamic, innovative and experienced Kenyan citizens to fill the following position:-
Duties and Responsibilities
The Officer in this position will report to Principal Finance Officer/Accountant.
To confirm budgets for recurrent and development votes.Preparing quarterly expenditure forecasts.Collating financial estimates.Preparing periodic and annual financial reports.Ensuring preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual trial balances.Preparing annual accounts for audit purposes.Compiling information on Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF).Supervising of bank reconciliations, cash flow statements and monthly expenditure reports.Ensuring reconciliation of the Authority’s creditors and facilitating their payment.Ensuring maintenance of the Authority’s asset Register and other Capital Expenditures.For appointment to this grade, an applicant must have:Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Commerce (Accounting or Finance), Business Administration (Accounting or Finance), Business Management (Accounting or Finance) or its equivalent from a recognized institution.Served in the grade of a comparable and relevant position in a public or private sector organization for at least three (3) years.Passed part III of Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination or its approved equivalent qualification.How to Apply
